Not A Direct Replacement for a JSX Head !!
I ordered this footswitch as it's supposedly a direct replacement for the Peavey JSX 120 watt head unit. Only reason I needed this is because the Ultra channel on my previous footswitch (bottom) stopped working one day. The Clean, Crunch and Effects worked just fine but I could not get the Ultra channel to come on. The Peavey footswitch that I received today (top) works for all 3 channels, but good luck figuring out which channel you're on, if you have effects engaged, or how to get back to a different channel efficiently. The order of the switching makes absolutely no sense on the new footswitch ! Which leads me to think that the footswitch I got is not for the JSX head but for a different Peavey head all together. The previous footswitch had a dedicated Effects button which solely switched on the effect which I loved and is very easy to keep track of. Yellow light on = Effects engaged. Simple. The Clean button if Green = Clean Channel. Clean Channel LED Off = Crunch Channel. Again...very simple. The Ultra Channel can run in the background if other channels are currently being used. This allows you to switch from Clean or Crunch by turning off the Clean Channel while the Ultra Channel is also engaged. This is Uber useful as you don't always want to go from Crunch to Ultra. Sometimes you want to go from Ultra to Clean or vice versa. Super nice feature and again....very simple. This new footswitch is baffling. Never sure what channel I'll be going to next no matter what I select. The Effects button will engage your Ultra Channel dependingon what else you'veselected. The Crunch button will engage your Clean Channel when turned on ???? I don't know man....you literally need to be like a "Card-Counter" or have an Electronics Engineering degree to understand how this works. It's literally a guessing game. Nothing like playing an ambient Clean riff and going to turn your delay and reverb on and next thing you know you're in Sepultura high gain territory by accident. Should have just ordered this footswitch from Peavey itself and waited the couple weeks for it. Not impressed with this at all. So beware Peavey JSX owners....this is probably not the footswitch you need. And if it is and you can forward me some engineering schematics I would really appreciate it. Man.....

Love it so far
Really solid pedal, I know that this won't bum out on me in the middle of a show! I match it with a Peavey JSX half stack, and a LTD mh-1000FR Deluxe. It's nice to be able to switch your channels quickly, and it also has a little overdrive switch too which is really nice when your solo's come around. Overall I am happy with this product!
