Believe it or not, but that black base is the vinyl. Very very happy with it, and I have so much left!

There is a reason this vinyl is available for the price that it is - unlike its 3M counterpart it has a very foil like feel making it comparatively difficult to apply. I would say, for a hobby project here and there its just fine, anything more and you will be tearing your hair out in frustration.
