An Underrated Gem!
I have used a lot of fountain pens over the years. I was curious about this particular pen. What drew me to this pen above others was the looks and hardware. The body of the pen is quite slim but with a fantastic balanced weight. The gold accents make this pen appear very luxurious and substantial. The cap snaps on with pleasing ease and it posts well too, adding to the balance and providing a pleasant length, although this isn't necessary. After a thorough clean with water of all the components (which are easily removed and re-assembled), it was time to ink up.Using Jacques Herbin's black ink, the converter worked the first time and filled up beautifully. The writing experience blew me away with how smooth it is on regular jotter pad paper. Schmidt provides the nib hardware and the partnership with this pen works extremely well. You honestly think you are using a super high-end fountain pen.Having used an equally fabulous Scriveiner rollerball pen, this brand should never be overlooked. Fantastic quality has fantastic price, and a lovely box, extra ink cartridges, and an extended warranty. My advice is to pick the colour you like the most and just buy it. You will not be disappointed.Bravo Scriveiner!

This is the pen I was looking for
I've gotten through loads of fountain pens over the years. Half of them broke because they weren't made very well; half of them just didn't write well, or were too small, or didn't look very nice.THIS, finally, is an actually good fountain pen. It writes smoothly; the nib is a good width; it's not scratchy; the green looks magnificent; it's got a good weight; the refillable cartridge works well and seems robust. This is now my main pen.

My Best Fountain Pen Ever !!
This fountain pen is superb in all respects. Whenever I have bought a fountain pen in the past, I have always tried the pen in store before buying, but there are very few retail outlets where you can do that these days (or even see a fountain pen on display, let alone buy one !!), so reluctantly I looked online. Plenty of excellent reviews for Scriveiner fountain pens, so I finally decided to try my luck - and I'm so pleased that I did. The presentation box is very classy, and the pen looks extremely expensive (it isn't) - I have Britixh Racing Green colour. Its balance in the hand is ideal, and it writes beautifully. I have had a few fountain pens over the years, but this is undoubtedly my best ever, and at a reasonable price.

High quality item
The pen arrived as promised- nicely presented. Being a fine nib I did wonder if it would take time to’bed in’ but it was smooth right from the start. A pleasure to get away from biros…

A beautiful pen.
Aesthetically pleasing, lovely balance and a practically sized ink reservoir in the converter. The nib is ‘broad’, I expected it to be wider although I’ve not heard of an ‘extra broad’. When writing, the action is very smooth and I only fully appreciated this by comparison to a pen I’ve been using. Long may it continue.

very beautiful design, but consumes A LOT of ink
Update Dec 2022: I had the pleasure to use this medium nip pen for quite a while now and to compare the experience with Parker fountain pen. I found Scriveiner far away better in terms of presentation, craftsmanship, nip and overall writing experience, especially when signing documents. That is why I decided to change the rating from 3 to 4 stars. If you write quickly, such as when taking notes and signing, I found that the ink flow good if you use the pen regularly. Also depends what is the room temperature when you write - when is warm, the pen may leak a little so I use light pressure when writing. When I don’t use the pen, I place it with the nip down, otherwise the ink will need time to start flowing when start using the pen again. But if I didn't use it for a couple of days the ink dried up in the feed and it had to be washed to get it flowing again, which problem unfortunately exists with both Scriveiner and Waterman’s ink. I found this quite annoying, which was the reason to upgrade my review to 4 stars instead of 5. Also, if you rest the pen lying on the table, again will be needed few scrabbles until the ink flow starts. I currently use Waterman black ink cartridges, because they are much cheaper (£4 for 8 long standard cartridges, black), compared to the Scriveiner ones (£9 for 20 small black cartridges, which are half of the Waterman’s long cartridges size). In relation to the box/ retail packaging, usually I don’t pay big attention as this is just packaging, which you don’t need once you start using the pen. Some of you may argue that is nice touch when giving the pen as present, which I agree with, but for this price I think the box is fairly good and gives nice first impression. Finally, please bear in mind that I am not an expert and not very experienced in writing with fountain pens. Because of this, some of you may argue my review, but so far I am pleased with that purchase.———Beautiful, smart design, as shown to the pictures. I will say good price as well. The gift box looks nice and leaves the impression of quality. However, this pen consumes A LOT of ink (using the original Scriveiner cartridge, supplied in the box with the pen) and leaking at times. It is shame because otherwise the pen is really beautiful tool and boost your image as well.

Quality Pen
I bought the luxury EDC 'short' pen. It arrived very well packaged reflecting a quality much higher than the £50.00 paid. I chose Matt Black and gold. Looks expensive, reflecting a pen that may cost 5 times as much. Nib is excellent quality and smooth. The finish of the pen is first class and it's a pleasure to use. I wanted an extra fine nib as it was supplied with the choice of only medium or fine. An email to Scriveiner was answered on a Sunday giving me buying options for a nib. I bought the addition nib from a third party recommended, and received a follow up email from Scriveiner asking if I had manged to secure the nib purchase and whether I was happy. Excellent after sales service!

Perfect
It's rare that I award 5 stars, especially to a pen. With the Scriveiner, I have finally stepped up to a luxury fountain pen after years of trying to save a few bucks by buying inexpensive ones. It writes flawlessly. The nib glides super smoothly. The ink flow is excellent. With regard to weight, the pen is perfectly balanced whether posted or unposted. (I prefer posting my pens.) It fills easily with the included converter. I haven't yet used the cartridges. The pen is beautiful, and I use it every day. It's worth every cent of its Amazon price. I'll never go back to Chinese cheapies.

I was surprised how much I liked this pen
I wanted to get a smaller sized fountain pen that I could take with me everywhere so I was shopping around for fountain pens that were about pocket sized and saw this one. Now, I will say I was slightly reluctant to purchase this product. Prior to this pen, I had recently purchased the slightly higher end Scriveiner Silver Chrome Fountain Pen with 24k Gold Finish, Schmidt 18k Gilded Nib (medium). I was a little disappointed because with tax I paid just over $75 Cdn for it and it was even on sale. But the ink when I wrote with it kept skipping. It was a bit scratchy as well. I cleaned it and even changed the ink, and although it helped, it didn't resolve the skipping entirely. This resulted in an inconsistent ink on my page (some were nice and deep, other parts looked "soupy". Anyway, long story short, I wasn't sure if I could trust the brand. But then I came across this matte blue pen which was the perfect size that I wanted. The pen looked really good! I figured I'd give it a try and hopefully the first Scriveiner fountain pen I bought was just a one-off. I will say, this "cheaper" pen (it wasn't cheaper by much) is just so much better than the first one I bought. Much better ink flow, it started writing smoothly and it glided across the page much better right off the bat. There's a little skipping with the ink for upward strokes, but nothing like the problem I had before with the other Scriveiner. The only criticism I have for this pen as I wish the cap clicked on and off as that's a lot faster. This one you have to screw off and on. It's not much, but when you need to just pop off the cap to quickly write something... you can't. Not a deal breaker, but I feel like this was a design flaw. Maybe in response to their other pens where a lot of people complained they couldn't place the cap on the end of the pen for when they use it as it kept falling off. This pen allows you to screw it on the end as well so it won't come off while writing. It solved one problem, but at the cost of a bit of convenience. Overall, I'm happy with the product. It's a great size to take around, the blue matte finish is just really beautiful and the writing experience is really good as well. The Japanese Pilot pens in this price range do perform better, but none come in this really attractive blue matte finish.

Muy bonita
Es una pluma bastante elegante, aunque no se desliza como mantequilla no raspa el papel.

An amazing and high quality FLEX nib fountain pen
This pen is amazing! It feels like a very expensive quality pen, but honestly better in many ways. The broad nib has ample flex to it, even on cheap paper. The construction is wonderful. It feels heavy in weight and beautifully balanced when posted. It is thinner than other fountain pens like the Twisbi, FPR, Noodlers Ahab. The snap on lid clicks closed nicely. The converter fills smoothly. While writing in flex calligraphy style, you may experience some minor railroading, but that can easily be fixed by twisting the ink down slightly in the converter—removing air bubbles. The gold nib flexes far easier than a Noodlers Ahab, but less so compared to Fountain Pen Revolution ultra flex gold nibs.I will be adding more to the collection.
