I like the aesthetics of the bead shape on this as opposed to the round beads on the Chinese-style abacus.I got this model because of its all-plastic construction and the way it looked, mostly. The 23 columns allow for side-storage of numbers being worked on.There are tiny dots every third column to mark where we would put commas, but they are centered on the column instead of being between them as they should be. I made larger marks on the upper and lower frames, using paint.

Satisfactory
It’s exactly what is said it would be. Not normal for Amazon

Barely good for beginners
This abacus can only barely be used for beginners. The chips are super loose and will not stay in their spots unless you are very careful while laying it straight onto a table. I wouldn't suggest this product to anyone who is serious about learning how to calculate using an abacus. If anything this works best if used only for show. You can still do calculations but be warned that you may mess up often due to shifting chips.

A great buy
A wonderful and great abacus that is well made. Good price and my son likes it a great deal. I will buy it again without hesitation.

Disappointed
I am very disappointed in this product! The beads are very loose and do not stay where you put them to count or calculate with. Mind you I am putting the abacus on a table while using. What am I supposed to do with this?
