Much better quality than others, fine grit stone.
This hone is much better than the first one I bought, which had a plastic center that held the arms and broke on the second use. This is the same design as a larger hone that I previously bought, which was also great. Extra stones are available and you can cut or drill the rivets and use the included cotter pins to replace the stones..............or so that is the idea and the reason I bought extra stones with mine. The grit is quite fine. I needed to true a bore and take a couple thousandths out of it (to receive a bushing), but don't have the tooling to bore it properly. Because of that, this got much more use than it would for cleaning up a brake cylinder. It took a number of minutes to remove material from my part and did wear the stones a decent amount, but for brake use, it should last quite a while. I wish I had coarser stones for this. It also fit into a 1" cylinder, which is smaller than what some of the other hones will do. It took some care and effort to collapse it to fit, so take your time.

i actually used this item on a piece of heavy equipment. i had a 1" hinge pin that was scored up inside and the new pin was not going in easily.i used this hone to smooth out the bore for the new pin. 1 hour later, a small bottle of cutting oil, and a set of worn out stones, i removed .006" of material and the pin slid right in. i would buy this item again
