I got this to replace the prefilters in my several aquariums. I cut them to size and used a glue gun to bond the ends together for a perfect fit over the intake tubes of the filters. I also cut pieces to fit inside the filters for several tanks. The material allows for increased water flow and they don't clog so easily. 2 weeks later and the water is flowing very nicely! A very good product for the aquarium hobby.

Cut to size, I used these as dividers to create shrimp nano tanks. 50 ppi ensures the fry don't get through and I'm able to maintain perfect water parameters. I will absolutely utilize this method in the future and recommend it for that purpose.I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and based on the complaints about it fully expanding, I did my own thing and it worked great. Yes, when they arrive, they're vacuum packed and rock hard. They don't just expand when exposed to air nor when you try to pry it apart so patience is key. What worked for me was filling the tub with water and submerging them (I got 2) and then stretching them out gently a little at a time over the course of the day. In the beginning I filled containers and sat them on top to keep them submerged but when they were ready, they were perfect. I squeezed out all of the tub water possible, placed them between some towels and pressed until they were dry. Cut to size and then soaked in a bucket of tank water for a few hours before setting up so it wouldn't offset the water parameters.

I have twelve tanks and a few of them have HOB filters. I replaced the cartridges in the HOBs with this black foam. It’s reusable and filters great. Easy to cut and custom fit. Easy to use. Very happy with my purchase!

Would buy again

If I were to order again I would have paid more attention to how much I need vs how much is offered per size. Ah well, I’ll have plenty of filter foam for years now. Good value for money as I still have a lot to go around!

It arrived on time. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Aside from feeling this piece of foam should have been at least as long as my yoga mat for this price... the product is very good. I used it to make a diy filter intake cover to pre clean and prevent shrimp and baby guppy fry from getting sucked up as well as to pack my hang on the tank filter along with water polishing media. It works well but every other day I have to take off the intake and clean it because I've had several issues with plants, and food being left over since I had a bunch of pregnant fish at once and was over feeding to make sure they didn't eat my fry.(which wasn't a great idea because the breeding box got gross and 25 out of 30 ended up dying anyway.) Just getting the water back under control after a week of hell between filter, and air pump issues.

Amazing foam that I use for aquariums and terrariums it's quality is very nice and easy to clean and super easy to set up all you need is a bathtub or sink

Wie man in anderen Rezessionen lesen konnte kommt die Matte Vakuum verpackt an . Wenn man sich an die Anleitung hält , und nicht mit aller Kraft an der Matte rumreißt , dann merkt man schnell wie gut sie sich letztendlich in die Ursprungsform entwickelt . Zugegeben beim nächsten mal hole ich mir die Matte für den selben Preis im fachhandel dann hat man sich diesen Schritt gespart .Trotzdem muss ich sagen das ich zufrieden bin .

Used to replace charcoal filters in my tank. Great value compared to the price of the charcoal. Washes out easily, my tank is staying cleaner for much longer.
