The Anthony Joshua Bar
Needed to put weight on after dropping loads after a medical issue. Was eating tons without much luck, then had to cut down sugar. My mate, who seems to enjoy lifting heavier weights than the TV remote for some unfathomable reason, suggested I try protein bars.He suggested one type and they were priced like bars of gold bullion. These aren't much cheaper, but they have complex numbers with a lot of letters next to them. Ivan Drago type advanced training technology. Then I saw that they were good enough for Anthony Joshua and well, if they were good enough for that big lump, they were good enough for a munch in front of the TV.I got some 'birthday cake' bars delivered for a princely sum equivalent to three chicken breasts a bar, and went to hit my target of the upper limit of two bars per day. One at mid morning and one at prime TV time in the evening. The bars are tasty. They carry some considerable weight, and are filling. My physio who explained some of my loss of muscle mass was due to over extending myself watching the television, said I should combine them with exercise afterwards. I went for a walk after each bar.First day was spot on but by the third day, I could have blown up a hot air balloon with my impressive flatulence. Such was the brilliance of my new skill, my 6 and 7 year old would dive for cover, giggling, as Daddy took off down the runway (hallway) again and again and again. This all culminated in an event caused by getting overexcited going for my cool walk, in the cool park, with the fresh air and full positive mental health shizz.Unfortunately, near the skater park, a familiar rumbling sparked an instinctive contraction, and that oh so funny game, wasn't so funny with 3,000 steps on my newly purchased wearable, to get back home and strip off.I would just have one a day and see how you go on. Two was funny, but the joke was on me eventually.

High protein and low sugar
The bars are tasty and I like the slight crunchy texture. The price is good and the high protein/low sugar combination appeals.I though this bar is tasty but sweeter than others I have tried - this might suit some people but wasn't my favourite option.I think I prefer the flapjack texture of a protein bar as it is more filling than this bar although I prefer the flavour of these.

Disappointing, one bar missing
Overall it's a good protein bar, however box was not sealed and one bar missing.

Cherry Bakewell...Wow!
Mind-blowingly delicious, genuinely wouldn't know the difference between this and a Mr Kipling! So, so good, great work again Bulk!

Not great to be honest.
I bought these on the introductory offer price of £17 down 50% from £36, for that price I cant really complain but hell if I'm gona pay £36 for them or even the current offer of £25.Flavour - Isnt great, no real outstanding flavour other than chocolate and what seems to be chunks of honeycomb, last I checked honeycomb wasnt in millionaires shortbread.Texture - Terrible, truly terrible....the main protein part of the bar is this mess of chalky, lumpy and chewy....coupled with the coating ontop of the honeycomb bits that stick round your teeth if they dont break them!!Nutritional value - fairly standard for a protein bar, nothing ground breaking considering they are entering a very saturated market where you might want to stand out.Value for money - As mentioned before, at £17 for 12 bars working out at roughly £1.40 per bar I wouldnt be to put off making them a staple part of my training routine, but when they are asking £25 or more making them at least £2 per bar, I'd much rather get a box of Myprotein protein bars or the fulfill protein bars, both usually available around £20-25 for a box of 16P.s the branding is just gastly...Macro munch....really?In summary, if they are on a decent offer like £17 per box then it's worth a go but there are many better options about that are much more satisfying and make you feel less like you're eating a protein bar and more like a cheeky weekend chocolate bar!!! These bars feel like they have reverted back to the first protein bars hitting the market in the early 2000s!!

Best tasting protein bar
This is the best tasting protein bar I've ever had. Very tasty and a decent level of protein in there. These bars and flapjacks that Bulk do are generally all very tasty. I'd definitely go for these over the cookies they do however the cookies are packed full of protein.
