Actually fully self-contained
This isn't pictured, but the folded shut board has a compartment to fit all of the pieces inside and a light magnetic lock that will keep it from any surprises.The pieces themselves are a bit lighter than I was expecting but have a good feel to them.

Inaccurate/erroneous description of game pieces
Product description states "this set features pieces with symbols that represent the Chinese characters, so that you don't need to read Chinese in order to play".Which is why I ordered this set instead of others (and recently purchased another set with wooden pieces that fit the product description) but upon receipt the plastic pieces do not feature "symbols" and just have the Chinese characters.
