Absolution: A Dark Romance Novel

Intense story on the darker side with a perfectly messed up romance as a bonus
This is a totally messed up dark romance that will keep you turning the pages until the very end.Evie is broken. She was raised by a disturbed religious man who physically beat his beliefs into her. As you can imagine, her outlook on life is off and she's close to what most would define as crazy. She believes it's her job to kill the wicked men who sin and prays for her forgiveness.Ezra runs a bar and also manages high class whores. He's tough and unapologetic and has a reputation to be feared on the streets. He never touches his girls other than their initial training. When Ezra locks eyes on Evie, he wants her in a way he's never wanted another woman before. He senses the darkness in Evie as its the same darkness he carries himself. But he has his rules about not touching the women and tries to fight the pull he feels towards her. Eventually Ezra grants Evie the forgiveness she seeks in a way they both need. The chemistry between Evie and Ezra was so strong that it could be felt from the words written on the pages. They're both so damaged and yet in a way you could tell they just needed each other. I equally liked both characters and was pulling for them from the very beginning. I guess I'm a little warped myself to have liked this book as much as I did, but I just couldn't help but want their happiness. There's a big twist at the end that I honestly cannot believe I missed. Cause it's big and I was completely blindsided. This was an intense story on the darker side with a perfectly messed up romance as a bonus.

Dark and Disturbing and Depraved
If you do not like decidedly dark, twisted stories with lots of blood, do not read this book. Take heed of the trigger warnings in the beginning. This book is *not* for the faint of heart. Plain and simple. You will not enjoy it, so don't bother. For those that love a good, twistedly dark ride, you very well might enjoy it. This one was pretty good. Deliciously twisted. Death and gore bonus points. Now for the review itself. I enjoyed the storyline. It was unique. There are plenty of dark books out there, each with their own twists and depravity. What I loved about this one was the unique religious perspective. I have read some dark books with religious themes, but the cult aspect that essentially controls Evelyn's life was fascinating. Of course, there was warning from the author that no specific cult was modeled, and obviously not all cults would cause such morally questionable, toxic indoctrination. Nonetheless, there have certainly been instances where such a response could potentially be found and to see the possible outcomes out on paper was truly fascinating. I thoroughly enjoyed it.I felt the character building for Evelyn was well done. A lot of backstory there, explaining who she is and why she acts the way she does. That said, the character building for Ezra left a bit to be desired. There was next to none, despite having POV chapters from him. His chapters primarily focused on his new obsession with Evelyn. There was a little here and there regarding his business, but not enough to create a full fledged, three dimensional character.Overall, I enjoyed the book. It had decent storyline and world building. The character development needed work for Ezra but was excellent for Evelyn. The uniqueness of the story gave it extra points for me. And it was definitely the depraved story I was looking for.

Beautifully psychotic
First and foremost this is a dark book so read responsibly!! All the author can do it give you warnings you need to read what you can handle! Now onto the book! This is not a romantic love story. This is a book about obsession, violent and sadistic satisfaction, and a mutual willingness to possess the other at any cost! They get their unique happy and I loved every moment of their journey.Evenly(Evie) has been conditioned to believe she must be forgiven through pain and her only absolution is found in her spilled blood. She ,along side her sister, is set on a path of ridding the world of men she believes to be sinners. That is until her sister turns up dead.In comes Ezra her sisters boss. He runs a house of “pleasure” that sits nestled on a street he runs his girls. After the first encounter with Evie he finds himself driven to break all of his rules so he can own her body and soul. This was a back and forth of “should I off him” - “should keep him for myself” and Evie had me laughing my butt off at times with her antics to get him riled up!This was soo steamy and oh so perfect!

Trigger Central
I am not even sure what I just read. In part because of how damaged Evelyn, I guess that was part of the plan. However, this book is MESSED UP. I do not like books about prostitutes. And definitely don’t like books where the main character is trafficked. So in this book a trafficker takes two children and rapes and brutalizes them to the point that they are so messed up they believe they are whores and good for nothing else. Add in the mafia hero who doesn’t have sex with “whores” and the book is a terrible read. I gave this book 3 stars instead of one because even though I hated the storyline, it was something I had not read before and I appreciate a new take on mafia stories. But otherwise this was too hard to read. At one point, I had to just jump ahead or I would have quit reading it. It was genuinely bad.

My Gosh!
This book drew me in, chewed me up and spat me out! Done in a day. Made me blush & kept me captivated. Not my normal genre, read on multiple recommendations. Now I recommend it but only if you can handle racy!

Excellent
Although not my favorite book the Lovell/Cole duo has written, Absolution embarked me into a crazy ride, and I enjoyed every twist and turn of this journey. The epic dialogues had me smiling and literally bursting out laughing. This is exactly what I needed to read.Evie and Ezra evaded me. I liked them from the beginning. If you like bad-ass heroines, danger, fun, and dark cringe scenes, this book is for you!

Superb writing!
I have spent everyday trying to make a dent in this book since it was released and I kept getting interrupted. Today I sat down and started at the beginning. I finished it with in a few hours. My fingers were flying over the pages eager to get my dark side wet. There are not enough words for me to sum up how I loved this book. I devoured each word and sentence as if I was dying of thirst. It's dark, gritty and oh so sexy but also funny at times and a complete mind twister. I thought these ladies couldn't possibly top 'Wrong' & 'Wrath' but man they bloody nailed it and topped it 10 times over. I loved both Ezra and Evie and their characters will stick with me for a long time. Completely dark and so freaking good. LP & Stevie, I bow down to your dark twisted minds. Now, when can I get your dark book?!
