love it. Running PF sense with 8 gig of ram and Msata card 32 gig..CPU rarely spikes above 5% when running my house on full load2 xbox ones, 4~ PCs, seed box, does DHCP for network (wifi as well), use it for VPN access (typically only two users max while doing file transfers), SQUID, SNORT, Dynamic DNS and tons of other applications.150MPB down and 15 upAll NICS are operating, tested all plugs

Outstanding value for money as an enterprise-grade firewall for your home network
I am running Sophos XG Home Edition, the same software that runs on Sophos latest hardware with full functionality (though "limited hardware to quad cores and 6GB RAM). The four Intel NICs are a key difference maker, as other NICs may have issues.Configured with 8GB DDR3L and 60GB MSATA SSD. CPU runs at 20-30% under heavy load at 200 Mbps with the following active: HTTPS decryption/scanning, malware scanning, and strict IPS.After a week of flawless operation, I gave some thought to the case temperature. The heavy aluminum lid with heat pipes to the CPU works well, somewhere around 40 degree C. My concern was long-term reliability, especially during the summer when the room temperature might be warmer by 5 degrees C. Very likely nothing to worry about. I decided $12 was a small price to pay for an AC Infinity MULTIFAN S1, which drops the case temperature a good 10 degrees to around 30 degrees C and runs completely silent on low speed.Yes, yes, I absolutely appreciate the irony of adding a fan to a FANLESS device. Do keep in mind that my motivation was long-term reliability, in other words, making the device last an extra year or three. Also keep in mind that the fan is NOT a critical component: no harm done if it fails at some point down the road. Finally, the external fan doesn't pull any dust into the enclosure. OCD? I prefer "better safe than sorry." ;-)completely silent at its lowest speed.

Can't close case if adding a 2.5" HDD
QOTOM-Q190G4-S02 - description says "it can support 2.5" HDD and msata SSD at the same time..." Not so much... SATA wiring harness connected to a 2.5" HDD is too thick and stiff to fit in the case. The SATA data connector that's soldered onto the system board gets bent and may eventually get broken by the SATA data cable pushing against it when you try to close the cover plate. But the cover plate won't close anyway because the SATA data cable folded above the mSATA drive makes it too thick to close. Disappointing design flaw. Build quality is otherwise OK. Might as well get the thinner Q190G4-S01 and forget about using a 2.5" drive.

I was shipped a different version than pictured - no USB3
Unit that was shipped to me does NOT match the picture. My unit only had two USB 2 ports, and does not have a USB 3 port. Disappointing, because I thought I would hook up external USB storage to use as a NAS (USB2 would be too slow for my needs, plus only 2 ports).Otherwise, unit functions well. As noted by another reviewer, you can change the BIOS settings to allow PXE booting from network interface 2.I was unable to get ESXi 6u2 or ESXi 6.5 to install (hangs midway during bootup screen). Not a deal killer for my use case, but a bit disappointing (again, not the hardware manufacturer's fault).

Power is a small form factor.
I got this running Proxmox which is a great hypervisor. I have a standard 500G spinning SATA 3 drive and 8G of ram installed. With this setup, it has plenty of horsepower to run:* CentOS 7 container that is primarily used as a squid proxy* Ubuntu container running OpenVPN P-t-P to home and Amazon AWS* Cisco CSR1000v KVM Virtual with 4G dedicated with several GRE connections to remotes locations and Anyconnect VPN termination* Throw away Windows XP and Windows 7 virtual boxes used for testing unknown/suspicious software or general stuff I don't want to do on my desktop.* CentOS 7 container running SplunkThese VM's are light duty, but I was impressed and surprised that this small footprint unit is only using about 20% CPU and 50% Ram. I couldn't be happier. No hiccups after more than 2 months of uptime.

Worked as PFSense box with 2 issues
Purchased May 2017, shipping, package, all executed well. Installed PFSense and placed in service, no problems. Somewhere around 4-8 months the VGA interface went partially out, with the display being very dim and almost impossible to see. Isolated to the unit itself (not a cable, display or other issue downstream). Since the VGA was a non-critical item in this application I could ignore this. Unfortunately at15 months the Ethernet ports stopped working entirely.Unit worked well wile in service and I might be willing to give them another try should the need arise. Ports can fail due to external issues, but the VGA failure was unique in my experience, it was used very rarely.

Bad quality. DOA on 2nd reboot. AVOID!!!!!
Unit arrived and worked on first boot up. Was able to install IPCop on it, and it correctly recognized all NIC ports. Looking good... Then I went to reboot it.Dead. No power, no reboot, Nada, ZIP. DOA. Contacted the seller who told me that the RAM as "Recommended" by Amazon based on the most commonly purchased combinations wouldn't work. Strange because it did the first time. I paid another $50 for RAM as recommended by "Bovey" (the seller), only to find exactly the same behavior. Will not boot. Now I'm out of pocket $170 for this POS.Got a return authorization, but since the seller is in China, good luck finding an affordable way to send this back let alone that they will acknowledge receipt of the unit.Warning: DO NOT BUY THIS. The quality is substandard, QA is non-existent, and when you get it and it strangely just stops working, you are SOL. No chance to return it affordably and the information provided by the seller is completely wrong forcing you to invest more into this quagmire of fail. Avoid this unit like the plague. You've been warned.
