Insinkerator FLG-MTBLK Sink Flange, Matte Black

This is not durable at all. Paint chipped within a few months with gentle use and only water and dish detergent touching it. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! It’s poorly made or it would still be black and not have stainless steel showing. I would give it a negative number if I could!

Update: even with a grate in the bottom of the sink, this flange has still gotten chipped and shows chrome through. Disappointing as it will take a plumber to replace. If you have a black sink, it looks so much better to use this one. Does the job.

I bought the item to replace a stainless steel one I had previously, when I changed my sinks and work top. It looked great when the plumber had fitted it to my smaller sink but only 3 weeks later the black coating has started to chip and flake off. It has hardly had any use and has not suffered any impacts. I wish I had kept the stainless steel one!!

Pretty expensive for not lasting 6 months. Shocking for a product that carries the Insinkerator name, which has always been quality produ to in my experience. It is not black metal. It is their normal stainless steel flange painted black. I could have done better myself with a can of spray paint. The coating made it a month before wearing away from the edge. So then it just looked like an old shabby drain in a completely renovated new kitchen. By 6 months it was 80% stainless. Today I will remove the rest of the coating by hand to at least have it look uniform. Incredibly disappointed. I would have expected better from Temu at $7 dollars. Sorry Insinkerator, you have let me down for the first time. Your disposal and hookup systems are great. This product is not! It actually isnt even mediocre, its just poor.

Looked great at first but in less than 3 months the black finish has flaked off in several places so now looks terrible.
