Quick, fairly simple, works great and cranks fast!
I have an 04 grand Cherokee 4.7 overland. Put the passenger front tire up on a ramp. Took out the old and got the new one in in 45 minutes. Mine slipped right out despite some videos I saw where they had trouble. I was pleasantly surprised. Simple cheap mechanical fix for the electrician that I am. Thanks!

Works great!
Easy to fix, despite the fact that I am not a mechanic. I am not even very mechanical. I was quite intimidated to do this project, but the financial savings motivated me. I am so glad I did it myself. Only took a little over an hour from start to finish. Quite simple. New starter works great!

Drop-in replacement for OEM
The starter in my 2004 (WJ) Grand Cherokee was having issues, like weak starting or no starting when it was hot. I purchased this unit to replace it.This new starter looked identical to the old starter. The cast aluminum frame was identical, the motor end cap was stamped identically, just the overall construction was identical. The original Jeep starter is made by Mitsubishi (and stamped with it), where the new starter looked the same but was not stamped with any identifiers.Installation was straightforward: remove the old one, juggle it past the suspension, axle, and exhaust, and without dropping the old one or the new one on your face, finagle the new one back up the gauntlet of random components into place. Balance it precariously as you insert the first bolt and once in, Bob's yer uncle. On my Jeep, one of the O2 sensors was in the way; just unscrew it, replace starter, reinstall O2 sensor. The DB Electric replacement was a night-and-day difference. It cranked strong every time, and sounded different (better), proving the old one was on its way out. With a little elbow grease, this was a very inexpensive replacement.

Decent Starter for the Money
So far so good. I installed this on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and its worked fine. In the beginning of installation it sometimes lost power but as of late no complaints

I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and this was perfect!
It matched up nicely to the original starter, and only took me about an hour to put in. Have had no issues with the item or my Jeep since.
