Toys Come Home: Being the Early Experiences of an Intelligent Stingray, a Brave Buffalo, and a Brand-New Someone Called Plastic (Toys Go Out)

Fun & Tender
Jenkins' has a way of bringing to life the commonplace and even occasionally disturbing experiences of childhood with a touch that is honest, gentle, sometimes neutral and overarchingly delightful. The ordinariness is touched with the turmoil children feel about such events as vomiting on a stuffed animal and then having it disintegrate in the washer, and yet transformed with a poignant humor that carries with it some of the qualities of Winnie the Pooh. The narrative is deft, and the resolution to this third of three is entirely timely and hearwarming.

Best series for age 4 and up who enjoy read along chapter books.
Both my daughter and the 5 year old that I watch cite these as their favorite books. We've read them over and over for the past year and these are the only books that they've ever requested me to read a specific chapter from at story time (when we aren't reading through the book). I give the set as birthday gifts to all of their friends because we love them so much. They are perfect to read aloud-- pull out your voices, your kids will be laughing hysterically.

Just wonderful
As good as the other two in this series, maybe better. Wonderful words to read aloud, an absolute joy and a lot of fun to read.

Toys Delight Once Again!
This delightful book recounts the adventures of a little girl's toys. Each toy has unique characteristics that add to the challenges and relationships they develop. Young children will see themselves in one or more characters, and will begin to understand why differences sometimes make a friendship stronger. My 2rd grade students loved another of this series, "Toys Go Out." I bought this new book so they can revisit their old friends, Stingray, Lumphy, Plastic, and Tuk-Tuk.
