I got this for a kind of silly reason. I recently got a newer smartphone which has 3amp charging. It can charge my phone from nearly empty to 100% in a little over the hour, but I never achieve that because it heats up my phone so much that it starts charging at 1.5-2amp.I just got it so I haven't been using it that long but it does keep my phone a lot cooler than without. When I first plugged in the USB-C the fan seemed weak, which also meant it was really quiet. I expected it to maybe keep my hands cool too but the fan is too weak/efficient for that so don't expect that.So what is the best part? I'm not sure about the thermodynamics of it all, but in between the ceramic and aluminum and the fan blowing, it gets the backplate cold to the touch. I'm guessing the backplate where it makes contact with your phone is ceramic, and if you leave it on for long enough it actually starts to sweat. This means it is cold enough relative to the ambient temperature.Using a laser thermometer the hotter points are at 63F, and the coldest point is 59F. It has been running for about 5 minutes now and the ambient temperature is about 75F. It is already starting to condensate around the edges, so this thing really does work. This makes me wonder if other coolers also do the same thing, like on a CPU or GPU, or if there is something particular about this cooler.

I was pretty excited to try it but it was dead on arrival.

I ordered 4 different kinds, and this works best for my Iphone SE. It provided a snug fit to ensure maximize surface area unlike one of the other brand. It cools down the phone as it promised and the color is brighter compared to another brand I purchased. In all, hands down the best one from the other 3 I got for the family.
