Die moths. Die. I generally do not review a product the same day that I make a purchase, unless it's either very good, or very bad. MaxGuard Clothes Moths Traps are better than good. I've recently been at war with an army of invading moths. You know that part in the story of the Exodus where Moses begins calling down plagues from heaven, and one natural disaster is the precipitate to a myriad of other subsequent disasters? Yep. That's been my life for the past two months. Replace the plague of locusts with moths and you get the idea. It began with a bag of old blankets and stuffed animals that I removed from my parents' basement, at their request, as it had been stored there for several decades. After seeing a few moths fly out of the bag I decided not to keep most of the items. They that I kept were promptly washed. That did not solve the problem as I assumed that it would. I won't recount the full details of my ordeal here, but let's just say that my cats and I are going to need therapy from the trauma of having these flying, clothes-eating, cat tree loving, demons, tormenting us for several months. Most people are naturally aware of the fact that both kinds of clothes/carpet moths (case-bearing and webbing) like natural fibers such as wool, leather, feathers, fur, etc., but we assume that an infestation would be limited to items in our closets like sweaters and socks. They are attracted to things that contain keratin, which is found in most natural or organic products. I have cats. Cats have fur. Guess what is in cat hair? Keratin. So, what began as a few moths flying out of a bag and feasting on my favourite sweaters, some towels, and some socks, turned into an all-out invasion in which these winged monsters from the pit of hell were making their homes in my cats' beds, trees, and toy buckets. I spent a good deal of money on moth balls which made my cats sick. Duh! Then I purchased a ton of cedar products. Trial and error. I bought CedarSpace cedar blocks off of Amazon and those worked so well that within a week there was about an 85% reduction in the amount of moths. I'm also a clean freak by nature so of course I've been vacuuming the heck out of everything as well as shampooing my carpets and cats' trees, as well as trashing most of the items that have moth larvae attached. The items that I'm not willing to or cannot part with are being thoroughly vacuumed and washed with Angry Orange, which seems to help tremendously. There's been an improvement, however, there are still a few flying around. Those few can easily lead to being a few hundred within a week or so, since female moths lay approximately 40-50 eggs at a time. As previously mentioned, I have cats. Cats have fur. Moths love fur. I'm not taking any chances on revisiting the chaos of the previous weeks, so when I saw a few of these brazen little effers flying around my apartment, despite the drastic improvement by using cedar blocks, I frantically searched Amazon for another product that I could spend my hard-earned money on that would work to kill the remaining moths. There was a myriad of moth traps that showed up in my search results. While I'm sure that most of them are good, my experience has been so traumatic that I don't want good ... I want great. After a period of deliberation, I decided to purchase these traps by MaxGuard. It was quite possibly the best financial decision regarding moth killing products that I've made since late August. No exaggeration - literally within less than two minutes after opening the package and folding just one of the traps, the remaining moths that had been hiding emerged from the pit of hell where they live and began circling the area. In less than five minutes one was snagged and was lying there as an example to all of the other moths that they'd better find somewhere else to be fruitful and multiply! In less than ten minutes, three more were snagged. Then another, and another ... Maybe you're thinking that five to seven moths in about ten minutes time doesn't sound like many, but keep in mind that presently, there aren't many left in my apartment. They that remain will meet their fate in a MaxGuard moth trap. Carpet and clothes moths are slightly different. Well now ... I had both kinds, (case-bearing and webbing) which is partly why my ordeal was an all out war between my cats and I, and this army of winged invaders. It was so bad that I think my experience may qualify as a low budget feature film at a sci-fi convention: Moths From Hell. Picture me and twelve cats running from moths like Tippi Hedren ran from the psychotic birds in Hitchcock's 1963 classic. MaxGuard moth traps live up to its claims of attracting both types. They are very easy to put together - it takes less than a minute - and the results are immediately noticeable. It's money well spent. If I could give more than five stars to this product, I would. While my cats and I still have PTSD from the moth war of 2023, MaxGuard Clothes Moth Traps are an invaluable investment into peace of mind, and moth elimination. It's like a whole lotta zen in one nicely packaged glue trap.

As soon as I cut the foil wrapping on my first trap, the clothes moths started to appear and gather round. The pheromones are amazingly effective at attracting them but totally odorless to people. Highly recommended!!

Really helps with my moth problem. Doesn’t capture all of them but really helps control the problem.

Remember these only trap MALE moths. So if you’re still seeing moths flying around they are probably female. It takes a while for new moths to hatch and trap the males so they can’t reproduce. That said, there will always be a few that mate so you’ll get some new moths. They hide in vacuum bags and in vents etc. Be sure to freeze your vacuum bags for 48 hours after vacuuming where you find moths or throw them away. They love wool rugs so check them regularly. I think you have to resign yourself to always having these around:( These traps seem to work just as well as the more expensive Dr.k brand I had purchased before. It does take a while for the moths to hatch and find it, but after they do it caught a ton of them. In fact it caught so many I have to replace the trap because there’s no more room on it. Gross! (They were in the vacuum although I changed the bag.We also found some on our cat tower where I suspect they came from.)

I used another brand and there were plenty of victims but ran out. Tried this brand and multiple traps, in multiple rooms, were devoid of victims, despite clear evidence the moth were still active. Went back to the original brand and by the next day had dead moths. Don't waste your money.

I was afraid these moth traps would be a let-down, a gimmick as so many other bug remedy problems, but I am pleased to say that so far my Moth Invasion Problems will be remedied in a few months. The first day I discovered which room was the most infested by the number of moths gathered at the end of the day. To my surprise, it was the room I least suspected as ground zero! The traps have become a moth graveyard! Time will tell about the full efficiency, but so far I am very impressed and see promise in MaxGuard Clothes Moth Traps. Money well spent; I believe your money will be well spent as well.

I inherited a clothes moth and carpet beetle issue after having a house fire - and my belongings which were stored while repairs were made - were placed in locations which clearly were infested by both. [I moved 'opinion' comments re dealing with house events causing your belongings to be placed in storage by others, to the end of review, out of consideration for those who may have no interest] I have used another well regarded brand of pheromone trap (recommended by a friend) for some time, which does not inform you in their marketing online that the pheromone trap attracts only ONE TYPE of MOTH (webbing clothes moth). The product works very well, but last month I noticed MaxGuard states they could trap both webbing and case-bearing male moths. The cost of these traps is significantly less the other brand + rather than assemble box traps which can be sticky (and costly if you mangle one trap) - the idea of folding a trap to hang was appealing, so I ordered a 6+2 pack. Within 24-36 hours - I was shocked to see the MaxGuard Traps were attracting a type of moth I had never seen before - in substantial numbers. These had visibly darker markings and accounted for probably 75% of moths attracted to the trap, which I assume could be due to my already reducing the Webbing moth population. But I clearly had a type of moth in my home which the more expensive traps would never address and I had never considered. While I'm surprised I was ever lulled into believing it was sufficient to address only one type of moth, I’m totally impressed by this product. I could have continued using a single target product for a long time and still experience moth damage from a completely different, unaddressed pest. I just ordered more of these traps which I will be placing throughout my home in preparation for vacation time later in the summer. I have ordered from Amazon/had Prime for over a decade and this is the FIRST REVIEW I’ve ever bothered to write because I believe it is a game changer for addressing the difficult task of getting clothes moths under control. If you are not using a product which addresses multiple types of moth larvae - or are simply under-impressed by your results - I highly recommend giving this a try. Good luck! [** OPINION re off site storage and MOTHS: Should you ever need to vacate your home for some reason and have items stored via insurance funding - demand to know the location, if it is climate controlled, + preview or research the specific location if you can. In hindsight I would ask for 2-year coverage for any pest damage following return to house. You may only finish unpacking every box or notice some damage LONG after you have signed off on final expenses - PARTICULARLY if you have unknowingly brought them into your home in boxes which may be sitting in your basement, not yet opened, but producing a few moths here and there, unnoticed. Not everyone gets to stop work and have bandwidth to manage the 3rd, 4th or 5th important job you must master, of reintegrating into a home while important life objects are still in boxes, but your kids and careers keep moving forward and need you to keep up. Personally, I had no experience/had never seen this type of damage before. One very rich cashmere sweater which I unpacked months after returning home was so full of holes - I actually considered perhaps my cat (who likes fuzzy soft things) had a fit and destroyed it! When a neighbor suggested insects and I later mentioned damage to my insurance - I was gold “they found it like that” - which would beg the question why would anyone bother paying to clean and store ? - when I KNEW it had been purchased just months before and stored carefully. But I was too busy with recovery to anticipate the longterm implications of moth infestation. Keeping this in mind and READING your insurance policy coverage before an emergency to educate re MOLD coverage (usually has a CAP which is 10’s of thousands less than your damage) might help avoid some heartbreak ]

The barely work in my closet/bedroom while right next to clothing items (I have 2 sets up in my bedroom in closet & on top of dresser). There will be moths RIGHT NEXT to them & they do not attract them. I kill more by hand w paper towels. But the one set up in my family room never a window does attract & catches them. Very inconsistent & I would NOT purchase again considering they are advertised for “clothing.” 🥴
