Yippee!! My machine is working again.
I bought this for my singer merritt 1872 machine. My favorite machine. The motor went. My dad replace the old motor with this motor in about 10 minutes flat. Very simple and my machine was up and running perfectly again. Im very happy!! Great powerful little motor. Easy to install. Comes with written and pictorial instructions. Little hard to see as the writing is very small but he was able to follow. Motor came quick too. Originally said about 10 days for delivery. I had it in 4 days. Very happy with purchase beginning to end.

PIECE OF JUNK
The motor died after 2 uses.Total waste of my $. Was not in use for 15 to 30mins 2 days. It just got hot smell and died.I thought it was universal. I bought it after I read a review gor the similar machine as mine.howwver I wasn't so lucky.just disappointed.

The engine very good, but the pulleys were rotten and undone instantly !!

Good product. Better when customized for the installation.
Although I had to modify it extensively, the basic product works very well. What was modified? The plug for the motor was too short. I opened the motor and soldered in a 6' cord. The Motor / Light receptacle did not hold plugs. Used a surface mount type box (that lays on the floor) with a 20 amp receptacle. I cut openings in each end of the box, for line in and pedal controller using strain reliefs. I used a 6 foot cord for line in and the existing cord from the original controller. The controller that came with the motor was ergonomically too tall and not linear in its' response. The light and motor plug into the box and work as intended. The machine is a Singer Fashion Mate 237. It was also a good time to clean and oil the machine. Something most machines never see. Probably why the motor cooked in the first place.

This motor runs quiet, was easy to install. It is a great replacement for my sewing machine motor. Would definately order again.
