Lew's Mach Crush SLP Baitcast Combo

I was relatively new to baitcasters and wanted to up my game. After reading the reviews and seeing that it won an iCAST award, I took the plunge. After receiving it and spooling it up with some 15# braid, I hit the local pond and....WOW! I'm never looking back. This thing is awesome! Casts a mile and it is very forgiving with newbies. I'm not looking back and very happy with its function. Not regretting this purchase in the least!

The Lews Crush is a great rod and reel combo. It's very reliable and is a great rod for $200 and to top it off the packaging was very good. The box was very strong and had a reinforced edge to stop bending.

I also own the Lews Mach II baitcaster combo, which I also really like, but this Mach Crush combo is definitely a full head-n-shoulders above the the Mach II in terms of features, quality, use, etc. More than any other baitcaster reel I've used, the Mach Crush is really easy to dial-in resulting in minimal backlash. The Winn grips are oversized compared to the Mach II, which is very nice. The reel itself is very low profile and the speed guides on the rod make for precise, long casts. The rod definitely feels and reacts more like a medium rather than a medium-heavy, but it's managed some pretty big red drum, speckled trout, as well as sizeable small/largemouth bass with no issues.I'm right-handed, but I've bought all left-handed baitcasters because I don't feel like right-handed baitcasters are truly right-handed (if that makes sense). It allows for less of a learning-curve/muscle memory from my spinners as well. Coincidentally, the left-hand model of the Mach Crush combo at least was significantly cheaper than the right-handed model. If I say how much, Amazon won't publish this review, but the price difference was significant.

I started with the Mach 2 and it's been great. I picked up this one a few weeks ago and it's been great. So much so that I have a 2nd one coming in today.Great product that has been fantastic for someone just starting to use baitcasters. I personally haven't had any issues with shipping, however I do wish they were packaged a little more securely as a lot of people do seem to have issues receiving it damaged. I'll still 5 star it as the product itself is awesome.

First off I want to say is the packaging was perfect for shipping a 7' one piece rod and was received in just 2 days. When I picked it up I noticed how super lite this thing really is. The guides are the best I've ever seen installed on a rod and I own 110 of them to date but these guides were lazer straight and on target. The reel is easy to adjust for your lure weight and the drag crank is right on. This is my 3rd Lewes rod/real combo and this one is my favorite by far. I got the left side retrieve and it's $50 less, heck yeah!! Normally $200 everywhere, you can't beat this combo for the price. Very smooth and accurate casting, by far my favorite to use. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because they just threw the rod in a box with no protection for it during shipping, had to order a replacement the first time around. But super happy I got to use my replacement.

This thing has been my absolute favorite rod, was my first bait caster and wouldn't buy anything except lews, great price and beyond amazing quality

Purchased through Amazon from Bass Tackle. The shipping box was severely damaged. The top 2 feet of the box was torn off so the top 2 ft of the box hung at a 30deg from the main box. The rod and reel were pack loosely with some newspaper and the rest of the box was damaged and torn. The rod was ok but the reel handle was bent. LEW'S FISHING Mach Crush Speed Spool SLP Combo seems to be a great value and I would buy again – just not from Bass Tackle.
