Just WOW!
Great set of rollers! I ordered these on advise of a friend..Wowza! I’ve never rolled my hair before, but I got a lot of curls and volume, much better than a curling iron. My hair is mid length and naturally wavy. I’ve struggled styling it since it grew out from a shorter style. Once I get faster at rolling it, I’ll prob do it at a much higher frequency. The roller really create a lot of volume. The smaller rollers give more curl, while the larger ones give more volume. They are a game changer! The container is small and compact. Will be easy to travel with. Probably took about10-15 minutes to heat up. I’d strongly recommend if you want bouncy curls and generous volume. Enjoy!

Excellent no-frills rollers
Pros: --This set has 3 sizes of rollers, which makes it very versatile, an excellent adjunct to another set - and also a good starter set for those new to hot rollers. --The rollers are hollow and get hot by being placed on heated metal rods which stick up from the base. It's simple and straightforward. (Many roller sets need to be aligned and pushed in place so the elements can make their necessary contacts. If you don't get them in correctly, the rollers don't get hot - not an issue with this set.) --These rollers get hotter as they sit on the base. Once your find your groove, know how hot you need your rollers to be, you can use this to your advantage by unplugging the unit when they reach your desired temp. (Though you'll have to do this by time/feel - there are no indicators on the rollers. If you leave them too long, they may feel too hot.) --I like that these have a hard plastic finish, (not flocked or velvety), and that they have little spiky nodes. The barrels are continuous, (no wedge cut-outs) and very light-weight. --The set comes with pins to secure them in place. Once you get the hang of the pins, they're easy to use and require less storage space than clips. (This is a good thing for me. Some folks prefer the clips.) The only bad thing about these pins is that it's easy to get them mixed up - while they are marked in different colors to indicate the size roller for which they are intended, those colors aren't distinct enough. (It's really frustrating to grab the wrong pin when you've got that roller exactly in place.) Just be sure to put the pins in size-piles before you start rolling... --Everything stores away neatly in the heating case. --You can buy extra clips & rollers directly from Conair - (last pic is from booklet with ordering info) Cons: --There is no on/off switch. You must unplug the base in order to turn off the curlers. (There is, however, an indicator light, which is good.) --Melting the curlers is a real risk, especially if you forget to unplug the base. The posts do get very hot and while they do an awesome job of heating the curlers, it seems that extended contact to the elements might not be a good thing. (I've left mine fully heated for about 45 minutes with no melting problems - but the curlers were uncomfortable to handle when on the base for that long.) --This set doesn't have "ion technology" or ceramic cores... or whatever the latest & greatest is in hot rollers... If this is important to you, look elsewhere. (I'm not troubled by that - I don't use rollers every day and I take care to use a thermal protectant spray on my hair when I do use them. My hair is soft, healthy and not impacted by the absence of the technology.) --If you wish to use all of one size, you probably won't have enough curlers in this set. I like to use the larger ones on the top of my head and medium or small on the sides, depending on how tight I want the curls. (But I always want the top to be a little looser...) That being stated, at this price point, it's a great way to try a few sizes and see what works for you. Overall: This is a terrific product. As with any item that generates heat, care must be taken to ensure that it is turned off when not in use. It's a no-frills curler set and it does it's job well. The curlers don't have individual components inside, which makes them reliable and lightweight - they're hot when I need them to be and a full head of curlers doesn't weigh as much it does when using the higher-tech ones. I use these in conjunction with the Calista Tools Ion Hot Rollers Long Style Set 12 Base - (I really like those too!) Combining these two sets frees up the large rollers (in this set) for days that want a more "beachy" look. (The two sets compliment each other nicely.)

Good quality rollers, but results vary by hair type
These hot rollers are well-made, heat up quickly, and are very easy to use. I appreciated how evenly they warmed and how secure the clips felt while holding them in place. The set also has a nice variety of roller sizes, which gives you some flexibility when styling. That said, while the product worked exactly as described, the end result just wasn’t my personal favorite for my hair type. The curls held, but the finish wasn’t quite the look I was going for. Someone with a different texture or length may get results they love, so it really comes down to personal preference. Overall, I think this is a reliable and well-built tool that does what it promises — it just may not give the exact style everyone wants depending on their hair.

Third time is a charm
This is the third set of electric rollers that I bought in 4 months. I hated the clips on the first set that I bought because they left a crease in my hair. I did not like the second set I bought because they were so hot that I was yanking them out of my hair after putting in the second roller because it was burning my hair. After looking at the reviews for this set, I decided that with the pins instead of clips and the lack of heat reported, perhaps these were what I was looking for. They have performed extremely well for me. Don't get me wrong, I still have to use styling products in my hair to hold the curl for the day. Where I live it is extremely warm and humid and curls will not stay in my hair without a styling product. But with the right product, my hair is full of bouncy curls. Some reviewers noted the difficulty in traveling with these rollers. While I do wish there was something that would "lock" the curlers closed and I wish that there was also a more separated compartment for the pins, I recently took mine on a two-week road trip. The curlers never fell out of the base even when they were turned sideways. It's all in the packing. Yes, the pins went everywhere inside the base, but that could have been resolved if I had taken the time to just put them in a small zippered bag. I put all my other beauty products in zippered bags, so why not the pins for the curlers? As for having difficulty choosing the right pin, I just turned the pins upside-down in their compartment. It's just as easy to lay them out alongside the curlers, too. I thought these were minor difficulties. I bought the curlers to curl my hair without causing burns to my fingers or my scalp and they deliver. To add to another reviewer's bit of advice on securing the pins, I agree that the pins need to go in opposite the direction in which you are curling your hair. For most people, the ends of the pins will point either up or to your face, depending on where the curler is. I also found that if I "aim" for my head, instead of just trying to slide it in, then turn the pin upwards or toward my face when they touch my scalp and I know that they grabbed a bit of hair, that the curlers remain quite secure. I've also tried the Conair clips that are recommended and they are secure as well. I'm quite pleased with this purchase. Added note 7-2-14: Some reviewers said that the red dot heat indicator never turned white as it was supposed to. I always started rolling my hair about 5 minutes after I plugged in the set so the dot never got a chance to turn white. So I decided to test them. After 15 minutes, the dot was completely white and the rollers were actually so hot that I unplugged the set before I used them. Some of these sets just seem to have problems that I have not encountered with mine.

Mismatched Pins
I really like these rollers and knew I needed two sets, however, they came with the wrong number of medium and small sized pins. One set has a mismatched number of 2 of the half inch pins, and the other has a mismatched of 3 of the same size. I am very disappointed because these rollers are otherwise great.

Nice set of hot rollers
I didn't buy this product for traveling so am not reviewing it with that in mind. These rollers work well with my hair that is fine, graying, and straight. They add some curl and waves though I must use heat activated hair setting spray. The variety of roller sizes allows for adjustments for various hair lengths. My hair only just reaches beyond my ear lobes and I usually have 3 or 4 rollers left over that do not get used. They do need to heat up for about 15 minutes and I use a timer to let me know when they will be ready. The little button on one roller that is supposed to change color or become transparent when they are hot simply does not visibly change color, so I recommend using a timer. I divide the wire clips in the 2 slots so the biggest and smallest share one slot as they are easily differentiated. Mind you it is best to remove the clips from the slots to your countertop prior to plugging in the unit. They are close enough to the heat source that they get quite hot if you leave them in during the time it takes for the curlers to get hot enough. I did buy some bearclaw clips to use if needed but find that I do not use them. I am pleased with this appliance.

Doesn't work and no longer made by Conair
The heaters did not work. I purchased them for a trip and specifically picked this option because it could be delivered within 24 hours. They were delivered the same day, perfect. That's what I pay Amazon prime for. I tried them the same day and they would not heat up. I asked for replacement the same day, and now all of a sudden it's taking a week. I called the manufacturer to see if there was something that could be corrected. I was instructed that this model is no longer made and so there was no support. You may want to consider a newer model or a seller that does not make you go through the trouble of returning the defective item while they take a week to send you the replacement.

Does the job
Great item great price. Works well although the pins are bit painful. The manufacturer should include better pins. Heats up in 10 minutes and only needs stay in 10 minutes. Would recommend

It makes nice curls
I am glad I was advised by YT vids of the plastic smell on initial use, otherwise I would have been shocked. I am glad of how the curls turned out tho.

perfeito!
