Rusty's Off-Road Heavy-Duty Tie Rod - Compatible with Jeep TJ, XJ, ZJ

Received my Tie rod and during the unboxing I noticed it was packaged very well. It was already assembled including the zirc fittings with expandable foam covering each end 360° of protection. Side by side comparison there is no competition on which one is more durable. The finish on the bar was very well done and the rubber boots on the ends were very durable. The thread was machined very precise with no play. Hands down a big upgrade from stock especially if running larger tires. This went in no problem with the stock knuckle and drag link which also included new cotter pins aswell. Very happy with this purchase.

This tie rod is huge! When I unwrapped the huge black, thick, steely, intimidating, rod, I thought it was the wrong part! It was enormous! But it truly is the right tie rod. The install took twenty minutes. The conclusion I came to is an obvious one for just about everything. Size does matter! Bigger is always better! How you use it means nothing if you are using a tiny shribbled rod. Girth is important! The old tie rod was shaped like an, "S," from all the hits it took. This one will likely pulverise rocks, break branches, and decapitate alligators on the road! It will probably outlast the rest of my Jeep.

Probably overkill, but was the best value for a upgraded tie rod. Certainly the strongest thing in the steering system now. Extremely well packaged. And easy to adjust with the RH and LH cut threads, just spin the rod to make smaller or larger, than lock it in with the jam nuts.

This is the best tie rod and and bar on the face of the planet. I installed it about a year ago and everything worked great. Installation was easy, setup was easy. A few days ago I noticed a grease boot had split completely in half. I called Rusty's and they sent out a replacement boot, no questions asked. Now THAT is customer service. Thank you!!!!

1. This tie rod is a HUGE improvement over the OEM2. The jam nuts provide a much more reassuring lock versus the OEM sleeve.3. This thing is SOLID and is three times the thickness of the OEM Tierod.4. Swap out is easy, it's even easier if you have a ball-joint remover.5. Do yourself a favor, replace that OEM tie rod ASAP with this one.

Quality & durability but expensive

My first purchase from Rusty's was 15 years ago. I'm still using that item. This rod will out live me. As with other reviews, it's a massive improvement over the OE the rod. 2000 TJ with a 4" lift. No problem with the install.Additionally, packaging was excellent. They injected expanding foam into the box to keep the rod in perfect condition. Very impressed.

Must be three times the weight of the original tie rod. This is a solid piece of metal. A clear upgrade and one that will stand up to some battering. Great price for such a good piece of equipment.
