Flashpoint Pro Air Cushioned Heavy Duty Boom Light Stand - 13'

I highly recommended this C Stand.All my light stands are Flashpoint. I like keeping things consistent and simple. I don't have them on rollers yet as I am usually shooting in the field. If you are serious about lighting and audio for video production, C Stands are essential.The price is right as is its capability and versatility. It's heavy and sturdy (which is what you want in a C Stand) and can extend in a variety of ways for a variety of applications. I use it as a boom mic stand, attach an a LED video light (with winged 50 inch umbrella or portable beauty dish ), attach my Aputure AL-F7 as a key light for my zoom/web calls, or attach my heavier Interfit Badger 360w (with diffuser) for portrait or abstract photography.The stand is easy to setup/breakdown and store. The carrying case that comes with it with is big and sturdy (well made) which makes it easy to transport. Although all my stands are stored and transported in one large rolling case (Fovitec or Impact), and the C stands fits nicely in the bag.Excellent purchase.

Clever design. Sturdy tubing and leg assembly. Unfortunately I could not tighten the bolts used to adjust the height tight enough to keep the upper portion of the stand fixed in place. I striped the the bolt on the first use. I'm going to try to replace the bolt, but not sure that will fix the issue. It appears the collar the bolt fits through is to stiff and doesn't properly compress against the the tube enough to hold it in place. Cannot recommend this product as is. If the manufacturer can fix the tightening issue, looks like it would be a great product for a reasonable price.

This lightstand is an excellent product for the cost. Does everything it should and the included sandbag allows for up to a 30" softbox to be used on teh boom.This product was so impressive I ordered a second onw!

Love the air cushioning. Set at nearly full extension, 45-55 degrees with 5 lb counterweight it’s solid as a rock.

I've used a lot of different light stands over the years, but this was my first overhead boom.Pros - price. 13ft high is very useful. Haven't fully tested boom arm yet, but i like the idea for microphone use. The main poles are light weight, but seem sturdy enough.Cons - the connectors! They're made of some kind of plastic that I'm scared won't last a full year. They also have to be tightened down to a level that makes me think they're going to crack or strip, making this a cumbersome paperweight.I want to like it and use it, but i hate having to replace equipment. Probably going to return while i can.

For the price, can’t beat it.

Very weak low quality tripod the boom can barely hold a light without moving or shifting best feature is the height but you cant really use it ghat high with a light mounted i guess ill use these stands as reflector flag or silk holder
