Looks Great, with very minor cons. Great Ren Fest Boot.
These boots are exactly how they appear in the pictures. Here are the pros and cons:Pros:1. The material is very obviously not leather, but from far away, it is difficult to tell.2. They look amazing, and will compliment a wide range of outfits. I am wearing mine with a Utilikilt to the Ren Fest in my area.3. They feel nice and snug on my calf. I am 6'1", and the large stands about 3 inches short of my knee.Cons:1. The buttons that hold the laces are not held on very sturdy, and require a little more thread than was originally provided to become usable.2. While the boot itself is a good fit, there is no arch support, so like many others, I will be buying an insert in order to get that arch support.3. They are a very tall boot in the foot area, and don't hug the foot, but once again, an insert for the sole will fix that issue.Overall: Very satisfied with the construction and look of the boot. Feels a little flimsy in the hand, but walks very nice. Probably be used primarily for an event boot, and definitely not durable enough to be used as a commuter, but for <$100 I am very pleased.

All Day at The Renaissance Fair!
Great so far! A nice pair of inserts do these boots well. The sole is sturdy and the upper is well made. Not being a "natural" material like leather or suede, they can get pretty warm and swampy after a few hours of wear, but some good, moisture wicking socks will make short work of that. They look amazing; like I paid alot more than I did for them. I'd buy multiple pairs of these and trade them out before I'd drop hundreds on a leather pair for certain.I perform at Renaissance Festivals and finding comfortable footwear that doesn't break the bank and are durable is a tough find. I'm getting ready to go on a full run of weekends. I'll report back after they really get put through their paces!

like they advised
I read some of the reviews and got them one size larger, like they advised. I have very large calves so they probably wouldn't have fit if I got the right size, so thanks for that (I wear size 13 and purchased size 14). I then wore two pairs of socks to make up for the size difference. Also you might want to pick up a roll of leather cord. Seeing that the left boot was too short to be laced up all the way (or just cut off some from the right which was able to lace up then wrap around my leg 5 times) As well as some leather needles to re-sew the buttons on WHEN they fall off.On a positive note, they are super comfortable, and sturdy. I get a season pass to Ren-Fare every year. So for 7-9 hours a day, two days a week, for 9 weeks, I'm on my feet in dirt, rain, & mud. Then hose them off when I get home. They still look great.-1 star for the straps-1 star for the buttons

Love the boots and the look
Love the boots and the look, just as it looks on Amazon. The buttons don't look to be very rugged in terms of staying on the boots. They feel a little cheap. It feels as though I could yank them out without much effort. The thin leather lace is very long, much too long with no readily discernible way of hiding the foot and a half or so of extra lace. All in all, I'm pleased, but the price, I think, is a bit much.

Good quality and looks great.
These were purchased for renaissance festing. They appear well made and while vinyl should last and will pass for leather at 1/10 th the price of the boots sold at the fest. The finish is wrinkled like bull hide or elephant and flat black. The sole is a lugged work boot style. They feel very comfortable like house shoes and not boots. Keep in mind these boots don’t have any arch support or a real insole but that’s ok I end up replacing insoles anyway. I am 6’-3” and the top of the boot hits me 3/4 up the calf. The laces are real and function so they require adjustment until you get them fitted but that’s to be expected.

Good boot for the cost. Run a little big.
I bought these for Ren Faire for pirate boots. I'd prefer real leather but for $70 these don't look terrible. The buttons feel strong. The lacing feels a little stiff but it worked fine. The zipper is fine. No problems with that. Comes folded over in the shoe box but the bend doesn't show.I spent 10 hours in them walking around concrete and dirt. Driving in them was fine, they bend easy at the ankel. I put cross-trainer in-soles in them and didn't feel a thing all day. The in-soles helped add a little thickness to the inside since they were a little big. I wear a size 11.5 running shoe and ordered a Medium (10-11) so they run a little big.Overall a great boot for the cost.

Awesome boots!
These were a purchase for my upcoming wedding. I was a little concerned at first that they were made of poly-whatever, but they really look fantastic. They wound up being a little more sturdily made than I was expecting based on some others' reviews, I haven't given them a good wearing yet, of course, but they seem like they would hold up for a while. My only real complaint is that the insole isn't that comfortable, but rather hard. I'll be getting some inserts to save my feet from aching after wearing these bad boys for a few hours. Oh, and they could have been a tiny smidge taller for my taste, but I'm 6', they would ride higher on a shorter person.

Size matters
The boots themselves are wonderfull, i fell in love with them as soon as i saw them. The problem is that they were far too big, even when the size i chose was on the smaller side for me.I sent the item back and ordered even smaller, and literally got the exact same size again.Like i said, the boots themselves are wonderful, i would have loved to have worn them, but youneed the right foot size apparently.

Also
