260L Pro Smoothing Plane

Love this thing. Very smooth and easy to control. Shaves less-than-paper thin shavings. Love the quick on-the-fly adjustment. Find myself not using my Stanley any more.

I have had the smaller version for decades and love it. This one didn't disappoint. Extremely pleased with the quality, feel, and cut. I would definitely recommend this to others and would buy it again.

I own LN, Stanley, Knight toolworks, and Bridge City Tools. None compare to the ease and value of this tool. Works immediately out of the box. Shavings as light and feathery as you could want. I've never taken a micrometer to measure thickness of shavings, but let me put it this way -- I can read the newspaper through them! (Maple shavings, that is.) I like this version better than the 220 with its horn shaped totes; seems to have a lower center of gravity, but I guess that's just a personal preference. This plane is rugged and non-fussy. Really. It is so easy to set up and use, you can get to work right away, little to no down time sharpening and tuning. Dropped on the floor? No problem. Doesn't even phase it. Can't say enough good about this plane.

I bought this plane some 25 years ago or so and it still amazes me how rugged and easy to use it is. I hate sharpening blades and often when in the middle of a job, none of my planes are either sharp or adjusted the way I want them , I usually turn to this one and it works. I own and use high end name brand planes, but this one gets a lot more respect and use than most of my others because it's always ready and easy to adjust. It's my rugged and always ready tool ! If you want a very good user for life ,with little fuss ,then this is the one ! Glad I have it !

This is a Swiss made wood working plane of unusual design and good performance. I was attracted by the advertising photograph which showed a red cover on the hollow aft handle, which holds spare blades. The red cover seemed to me to add a necessary touch of color to what is not a very attractive plane. Alas, the product shipped to me came with a black colored blade storage cover. Contact with the SAMVAS SA parent company brought only a bland statement that black was all they now used for their handle covers. Aside from aesthetics, this planes about as well as a dozen other planes that I use. I will keep it and be sure to never trust another RALI product advertisement. ADDED COMMENT: Much to my surprise, the Rali Company did just recently send me a red plastic cover for the aft handle, cum blade storage chamber. I suspect that current shipments will continue coming with the black cover as I received, but you might ask. Thank you, Rali Company, for the red cover. It is charming and adds a much welcomed splash of color.
