Q: Will this work in a parking lot to mark temporary parking spaces?

Yes I believe it would work as temporary lines. It seems to stick pretty well to a hard surface even if it is bumpy.

Q: Can I use it on hardwood?

I used it on cement, however, I got the roll out and stuck it to my oak floor. It came right off with no problem. I can tell you that my roll feels like electrical tape. So I feel it would remove from the hardwood floor fairly easily, unless it is walked in a lot and left there for some time. Just my opinion.
