La Florentine Pistachio Torrone, 7.62 Ounce

These are the traditional Italian candies our family had every Christmas and Easter back in the 1950’s. They are delicious and gluten free! There are 3 flavors: Orange, Lemon, & Vanilla, but when we were kids there was also Mint, Coffee, Chocolate, Hazelnut, Pistachio, and others. I did some research and found the company that made this candy in the 1950’s was sold, but I could not find if the new owners still produce the other flavors. That said, I do know that Pistachio is still available and have purchased 3 or 4 boxes through Amazon.

I usually purchase the 3 flavor box of these nougat candies. I just saw the pistachio ones and had to try them. They are delicious and are very fresh. These were a special treat when I was growing up. It’s nice to be able to get them online.

I have been eating these since I was very young. I now give them as hostess gifts. They are a sweet treat that hits the spot.

This is my go to for Torrone. This is a gift my grandfather always sent to us for holiday celebrations. Thankful I can still get them. Great product, always fresh. Knocked down one star because delivery is hard to predict (which is no fault of the producer, but still frustrating).

These remind me of my Nonna. She used to give these to me when I was a little girl. I loved them. The little boxes they came in with the picture of the pretty lady on one side and the castle on the other fascinated me I was thrilled to find these on Amazon. They’re just as delicious as I remember! Sweet nougat, nutty pistachio. soft, chewy and crunchy altogether. What a delight! I’ve tried another popular brand, and while that one is tasty, this one is spectacular. All the Torrone flavors from this brand are delicious, but Pistachio is my personal favorite. Beware: You may have difficulty eating just one or two……

Soft sweet bites that are individually wrapped and remind me of Christmas at Nonnas.

Like many others, I grew up with this candy which always appeared at Christmas time, and then disappeared for another year. Unfortunately, as a kid, I never asked for the source of these Italian candies. Each year during the holidays, I reminisce about them - and then this year I had an ah-ha moment and found them here on Amazon. They are as good as I remember them, and how often does that happen? My favorite part is still the thin wafer covering that just melts in your mouth, that some people have mistakenly thrown away because they thought it was paper! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course, now that I know I can get them on Amazon, I don’t have to wait for Christmas anymore - I can order them whenever I want!
