Beck/Arnley Fuel Filter - 043-0979

Bought this based on reviews. Seams to fit correctly and is working fine.

I changed my last fuel filter from subaru with a OEM filter. I thought I was great for a while. Supposed to work for 5 years or 30k miles. I met neither of those, so I thought I had other issues. Which I kinda did. Like the Fuel pump was the wrong size. So I changed that, ran fuel injector cleaner. My car was still hesitating. So I thought instead of replacing fuel injectors or pulling them for a more heavy duty cleaning. I would get this filter and a air filter. I changed the fuel filter, and low and behold, my car works like it should again! Then I changed my air filter, which didn't help much, but I noticed a more responsive start from it. So, if you have a car that is hesitating, struggles and surges when you accelerate, loses power as you accelerate, you may have a filter that is clogged and needs to be replaced. The old filter had black gas come out of the intake side. I am sure it was well past spent.

I installed this in my 98’ Subaru and noticed the smell of gas after driving but and found that the top seal of the filter itself was dripping a lot or fuel under pressure. If I had any kind of spark happen in the engine my car would have caught on fire. The phone number Amazon gives for the manufacturer is incorrect and Amazon will not allow me to return this. DO NOT BUY!

Listing shows Black, the one I received was silver. Don't forget to pull the old rubber isolater off your old filter and install it first. Otherwise it won't fit tight in the Filter bracket clamp. Cycle your key multiple times and prime your new filter and check for leaks.

Fit my 2001 Subaru Forester perfectly. Just took a few minutes to swap out. Will buy again.

Is working great in my 2001 Subaru Forester. Size and angles are the same as OE.
