I was fortunate to stumble upon this true gem
After intense searching for an authentic old west gun belt and holster, I was fortunate to stumble upon this true gem. At half the cost of other well-made, attractive belts, I was skeptical at first of the possible quality. However, after reading every listed review, I was impressed with so many acclaims of how beautiful and well constructed this belt and holster proved to be. Well, I received mine today, and it totally exceeded every expectation. First, the fit was perfect. I am a 33/34 waist, so as instructed, I ordered a 38 belt. Of the five adjustment holes, mine fit into the middle hole, leaving room for weight gain or loss (who am I kiddin' - room for weight gain!). The tooling is simply incredible! The belt and holster are beautifully adorned with a wide array of leather tool designs - including some very intricate work. Contrary to some critical reviews, the belt and holster are all leather, measuring 1/4 inch thick on both belt and holster. The stitching is uniform and appears durable. While advertised to hold 12 to 24 cartridges, mine holds 25; and when filled with 22 magnums, the belt is enhanced to even greater attractiveness. The hammer loop (which was often criticized as too short in several reviews) is of perfect length; however, because of the stiffness of the leather, the loop would initially "stand up," causing the loop to come off the hammer. I quickly remedied that by applying a small amount of Olive oil to the loop and then bending it in half. After only a few minutes, the loop lay perfectly across the hammer. This is an exceptional gun belt and holster - especially at the current price point.

Great fit for Ruger Super Wrangler!
Well made and looks great. Quality materials and workmanship. Holster works great with Ruger Super Wrangler. I wear a 34 waist and the 40" set fits perfectly at about the middle holes. The black finish goes great with the silver ceracote finish on the Ruger.

The Rig is Great - The Process of Getting It, Not Quite as Great!
I was encouraged by my initial contact w/the supplier of this product. The ordering process was quite smooth, and I awaited - with great anticipation - receipt of the product in the timeline provided by the supplier. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the timeframe from order to receipt. It was an excessive time period, in my estimation, based on aforementioned purchase confirmation.Once I received the product, visual inspection revealed a very good quality product. I was satisfied with the uniformity of the finish of the leather. The thigh tie strands were more than adequate, even though I have fairly large thighs. The safety strand, that loops over the hammer, was remarkably short. Having contact with William (supplier), I was told to use olive oil to enable extension of the strand. Having recently moved, I was not in possession. Rather than run out to fetch the prescribed solution to the problem, I simply worked the strand slowly - forcefully - deliberately. The strand eventually was extended enough to secure the revolver.I noted there was appreciable staining of my hands, apparently from the dye used on the leather. Again, consulting with William (supplier), he indicated such an experience is normal. He further indicated the dye should "set" within days of exposure to air. I made sure to leave the belt/holster constantly exposed to air, and I've not noticed any more staining of my hands in using the rig.Perhaps my greatest concern was/is the excessive delay in shipping and receiving. William seemed to want to do the right thing in expediting, but delays continued. When I sent my final correspondence to William, he offered to reduce the purchase price of the rig by 10%, and to not charge for shipping. This was to occur after receipt of the rig. To date, I've not seen this monetary reduction, but take William at his word - and the promised refund(s) will come through.I gave this product 4 out of 5 stars, principally for the rub-off of the dye - and the need for me to extend the hammer strand (quite a bit of physical labor involved). With that said, I am most satisfied with the rig - and have received numerous compliments on the appearance of it. The comments have come exclusively from fellow members of the sportsman's club to which I belong. 2 of the members have asked where I got the rig, and I have referred those members to the Amazon site for contact with William and his firm. This rig is a great addition to my Western Wear wardrobe. For rodeos, county fairs, etc., I will wear the rig proudly. I am considering a brown rig similar to the black one purchased, so I can keep the black for my black and my blue outfits - and have earth tones to match earth tones of some of my Western clothing (e.g., brown and tans). Perhaps I'll ask William to create a brown rig for me in the near future.

Great looking holster
I’m no historian of western leather but this looks like it came from the 1800’s. Very thick and durable. Only real cheap part is the leather leg strap and the little strap for gun retention but I’m sure things like this was common back in the day. Bought this as a gift for my father who is a huge western fan. Unfortunately he does not have a revolver but he did inherit a Ruger Mark II which fits great in the holster. I ordered the brown which was pretty dark like chocolate so I’m assuming the black is a true black. Would’ve loved to have the option for a more natural color so the artwork would stand out more but it is a beautiful piece either way.

Nice Quality.
Very nice fit for my Ruger Single Six. At first the Holster appeared to large but you have to make it fit your particular pistol. Set up is easy.Insert your pistol into the holster to the depth you prefer then try to press very hard to shape the holster to your pistol. Remove pistol and flatten ever so slightly. Check for fit. You can squezz holster to loosen its grip. What you are looking for is a smooth easy draw with little or no drag. Then gently but firmly pull on one side of the Hammer Hook so that it slips over the Hammer and can be easily lifted with Thumb for fast easy Quick Draw. The only bad part is waiting for delivery. Took over a month to get to me but well worth the wait.

Nice. Bought for Heritage 22
My pant size is 38 so I ordered the 44. That put the belt hole I use in the middle. It came with a strong odor from the leather dye. It was in 2 plastic bags that likely kept it from drying. I hung it outside in the sun to dry. I'll wait to see how dry and stiff the leather is after the dye dries. Then I'll decide if I need to treat the leather to prevent cracking. The holster is shaped round as if made for a large revolver. I stepped on it to smash it down and fit my Heritage 22. That worked really well.
