The Moon Cycle Cookbook: A Holistic Nutrition Guide for a Well-Balanced Menstrual Cycle

Best Cookbook Ever
I felt compelled to write a review to convey just how amazing this book is. Where to start?- It's gorgeous - the photos and layout are poetic yet sensible. I had ordered the kindle version first and realized I had to have the print. So glad I did get the physical copy. It's always within arms reach while in the kitchen or living room.- The recipes are 10/10! I've made probably 20ish dishes (ranging from breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts and beverages) and without exception every one has been a home run. My family (bunch o' dudes!) love the meals and snacks.- Speaking on the recipes, the Vanilla Cacao elixir from the menstrual phase chapter is the only drink that has successfully lured me away from coffee. It is literally more satisfying, delicious and energizing, and I've never been able to say that about any other coffee substitute attempt.- The information on the cycle phases is sooo interesting and practical. Lots of great tips / info from both a scientific, nutritional perspective as well as emotional and behavioral.- Everything is organized very well. It's a pleasure to read and reread about each phase and all the tools / activities that are supportive. The two authors really made something special together. Highly recommended for any woman interested in optimizing her menstrual cycle and/or making some darn delicious and wholesome food!

Great recipes
I have enjoyed making the recipes in the book. They are easy and not something I would normally make. I also like that they use some healthier ingredients. If I can't find the healthier ingredients (such as liquid aminos), I just use what it was meant to replace (soy sauce for liquid aminos). I'm not sure if it has helped my cycle at all but the food has been good and I like the information on what food to eat when. That way, I can incorporate those ingredients into other dishes.

PLEASE READ: THIS BOOK SAVED MY LIFE
This will be a long review, but I have to share how much this book has helped me in hopes of helping other women. First off - this book is so beautifully written! When I bought it originally, I thought I was just getting a cookbook but I got so much more. The way it educates you, the way it treats your cycle like the changing of the seasons and phases of the moon, the way it includes little self-care tips - absolutely beautiful! Also, all of the recipes I have tried in here are DELICIOUS - even my husband loves them lol. The book is also very aesthetically pleasing and so pretty. Now for the main reason I write my review - it saved me from my periods. Since I was 15, I have suffered from extremely painful periods. My periods are heavy, and so painful to where I throw up from the pain and quite literally are disabling. Even if I take 4 ibuprofens- it does nothing. And that’s just the pain alone - not all the other symptoms that I still have to deal with that come with a cycle (bloating, headaches, etc.)I did many tests with my OBGYN, but they just kept telling me nothing was wrong with me and that this is normal for some women. They only gave me prescription pain killers to help with the pain. Eventually, I requested a hormone test. When I was denied one - I took matters into my own hands and bought this book. I followed it diligently for 1 month, including cutting out endocrine disrupters from my life per its recommendation. That month - I had NO CRAMPS AND NO PMS SYMPTOMS. Can you believe that?! I almost cried with joy. I thought it may be a fluke, so the next month - I followed the book recipes, but not strictly. That month I had bad cramps, but even so - they still weren’t as bad as they used to be prior to this book. This book has changed my life so much to where I recommend it to every woman I know. My mother in law loved it so much - she bought 4 to give away as Christmas gifts to her friends. Thank you so much to the authors of this book! You have saved my life!

Best cookbook I’ve ever bought
I love this cookbook. It’s beautiful, it’s full of great recipes with easy to follow directions. But what I like best is how original the recipes are. I cook a lot and I didn’t feel like this was you “here’s a smoothie, salad and soup dish and a new take on chocolate cake” sort of book which I feel like are SO common and I’m sick of 100 ways to make a healthy smoothie. These are fun and original and so easy to make fit a variety of diets. I’m GF and although not specifically made for the gluten free, most recipes are gf or very easy to sub.
