This is a well-made puzzle. It turns smoothly. The colors aren’t stickers, but are sturdy plastic tiles set into black plastic frames.It’s so fun to turn, it works as a fidget toy as well as a puzzle. Everyone in my family enjoys playing with it.It comes with instructions for solving it, but I’m enjoying trying to figure it out on my own. The printing on the instructions is really tiny, so I might actually have to use a magnifying glass, or take photos and zoom in to see the details of the pictures.I appreciate that this puzzle came efficiently packaged, in a cardboard box just big enough to contain it, but I wouldn’t have minded if they’d used just a little more material in the instruction sheet.We have a nice collection of these sorts of puzzles already, but this is our first gear puzzle. My six-year-old and I play a game where he scrambles a puzzle, hands it to me, and demands that I solve it. I solve it and hand it back for him to scramble again. This is a nice alternative to our other game, in which he makes a mess somewhere in the house and I clean it up. This game works with our other puzzles, but so far this one is different enough from standard Rubik’s-type puzzles, it has me stumped. I’m looking forward to solving it eventually.It’s sort of the same as a 3x3x3 cube that’s been rounded into a cylinder. This rounding should make it a little easier to solve, since you can sometimes tell by the curvature of the pieces that they’re definitely in the wrong place. As you turn it, it shape-shifts, turning from a smooth cylinder to various spiky cactus shapes, but it never gets impossibly tangled.On a standard Rubik’s cube, turning a side around in one complete rotation brings the cube back to its original position, but with this puzzle, you have to turn a side around six whole times to get all the gears to rotate back to their original orientation. This is time-consuming, but so satisfying when, after all those turns, all the spiky bits suddenly resolve into a smooth cylinder.

The picture is much bigger than the item. Disappointing when it arrived as it was a gift.

I got this as a gift for a friend who thought he had all the cubes. It’s absolutely amazing! The pieces move super smoothly living up to its name in every aspect. I was not expecting it to be this nice but I am 100% pleased with the quality of this item!
