The Fairies - Petal & Nettle and the Big Birthday Surprise

I've never heard of this author before, but the book cover is so inviting, and my little one is obsessed with fairies, so I thought I'll give it a go ;) I absolutely love it. The book is so engaging for the kids, and it's got a twist, you don't expect :D it's also not boring for the parents (as you read it a million times each night ). Thank you so so much, I'll be coming back for more books from Kirstie. If you, like me, never heard of this author check her out, you won't be disappointed <3

Once again Kirstie Watson provides a magical adventure to entertain and delight children, the story is wonderfully written and engaging, with a learning experience for the children and some challenging words thrown in to expand their vocabulary. The illustrations are stunning and help bring the story to life beautifully. My daughter is 6 and has loved every book written by this wonderful author. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Kirstie's stories are always fun to read and Petal and Nettle does not dissappoint. The story and illustrations are both magical. I particularly love the authors use of humour as well as the lessons about friendship, asking for help and not stealing, intertwined throughout the story. It doesnt follow the usual trope of the goody and the baddy, which is refreshing and clever. It's a huge thumbs up from me and my little ones.

This book is a lovely and delightful read. The illustrations are so beautiful and the story, one about the magic of friendship is such a special message for any age group. I definitely look forward to reading more of this authors books.

This is a beautifully illustrated, delightful story set in the magical world of woodland elves and fairies. Petal and Nettle are adorable, and the birthday surprise really is a surprise - with a lovely message for little ones. Highly recommended for lovers of magic, fairyland and fabulous children's stories!
