Cenlux Professional Digital Voice Recorder MP3 Player, Portable Multi-functional Rechargeable Dictaphone, Silver

Just received this recorder today. Pulling it out of the box and recording is quick and easy. Did a couple of recordings to hear the sound quality and I am satisfied it will meet my needs. Takes a little more work to get around the menus but it wasn't too difficult after a couple of times through. The instructions are not very in-depth although they do cover the basics. There are quite a few settings which can be manipulated to shape the sound so I'm sure after some experimentation I will get it dialed in. The unit did freeze up on me when I was in the file list menu and accidentally pushed the record button. Turning the unit off restored order but I was worried for a minute. Plugged the unit into the computer with attached USB cord and my recordings popped up on the screen nicely. With the ability to offload recordings easily I'm not too worried reaching the limits on the included 8GB of memory. I've seen reviews here regarding batteries however the model I received is a rechargeable unit. My only complaint so far is that I did not receive the lapel mic which it seems everyone else but me found in the box. Now I will have to buy one when I thought I had a complete package.I will be using this recorder as the audio source for some instructional videos and I'm disappointed they forgot the lapel mic. Otherwise this seems like a pretty good unit.TIP: There are two menu sets on the unit. Pushing the 'm' button quickly takes you to the file/record settings. Pushing and holding down the 'm' button a little longer takes you to the unit settings.UPDATE 10/01/16: As I stated I didn't receive the lapel mic so I bought one separate. Received the mic and guess what? Doesn't fit, seems the standard mic connector is a 3.5mm and this unit takes 2.5mm. So now I have to either return the whole unit and buy another or buy an adapter. Probably an adapter but this train just keeps getting longer. I took away a star.UPDATE: 10/14/16: Bought a pack of adapters and started recording and they didn't work. I'm up against a deadline and this set up is inoperable. I've returned it but kept the lapel mic which I purchased separately. This is probably a decent unit but I bought the Zoom H1 which is much more intuitive to operate, has removable memory and the ability to up size the capacity. Of course the key is that it fit the lapel mic and works really well. I'm ready to tackle my video project finally.Kept this review to three stars because the unit was serviceable but without the lapel mic didn't fit my needs.

I bought this after looking at several other similar products on Amazon. There are better products out there. First, there is no direct USB plug which is inconvenient. You have to have a micro USB cord to charge this item and to upload recordings. That is included in the kit, but you must ensure you have a cord handy if you are away from your office or home. Second, the directions are very basic, so I am still unsure if there is a way to delete a recording directly from the device. For now, I must upload files to a computer and delete it from there. Lastly, I bought this to connect to a standard phone adapter so I can record telephone calls on a landline. When I went to plug it into the phone adapter, (bought separately) I discover the jack on this device is not a standard size. I had to buy an extra adapter in order to connect this device to a phone adapter. I would not buy this product again.

Haven't yet tried the recorder. It has great eye appeal and size. The manual shows all the buttons, etc., However, the reason I haven't yet tried it is the manual tells me details naming all the bells and whistles lack but lacks actually operating details. Since the manual is ½ Chinese, maybe I need to read Chinese to figure how to use it.

I received one that did not fully function as intended which could have been uncommon, but I was not very happy with it overall for that reason. The case was solid as suggested, but all the writing is in Chinese and English on the case of the recorder, which I did not remember seeing in photos. The issue mine had was that it would not turn on without being plugged into the wall which obviously defeats the purpose. I did not mess with it much past that because I knew I would be returning. It did come with a handy fabric case and well packaged.

Good to record lines in a play/musical for memorization later.

Nice design. I bought this device to record the lecture and lab classes. The sound came out very clear. I'm very happy with this device and would recommend if anyone need one for the classes.

Directions were not clear, returned to much Chinese in the directions!!

Works great but does not come with a standard aux input. You will need to upload the content to a computer.
