Featuring the durable, sag-free Rycote Lyre suspension and the included Dead Wombat windshield, it delivers unmatched audio clarity in challenging outdoor environments. Lightweight and ergonomically redesigned, it supports handheld and boom pole use, making it an essential tool for filmmakers and audio professionals seeking pristine sound capture. ## Description The RODE Blimp is a complete windshield and shock mounting accessory for the NTG1, NTG2 and NTG3 microphones, as well as any third party shotgun microphone up to 325mm (12 3/4”) in length. Now featuring the Rycote Lyre suspension system, the Blimp provides the ultimate in microphone suspension and isolation. Constructed from a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic, the Lyre provides superior acoustic suspension to traditional elastic solutions, and will never wear out, sag or snap. The Blimp’s handle has also been completely redesigned, reducing the product weight significantly, while increasing the ergonomics for handheld use. Housed inside the grip is a heavy-duty Mogami cable which splits via a junction box to a highly-flexible thin cable inside the Blimp, to minimize the transference of vibration to the microphone. With the lightweight design of the handle and suspension system the new Blimp design is over 25% lighter (550gm without microphone or Dead Wombat fitted). The Blimp attaches to any standard boom pole via 3/8" thread attachment at the base. The Universal Blimp Mount is available as an option to remove the handle when the Blimp is being used primarily on a boom pole to reduce weight. The Dead Wombat windshield, caring brush and tail/patch cable are included. ## Features - Greatly reduces handling and wind noise - Accommodates most shotgun microphones 325mm in length and 19-22mm diameter - Rycote Lyre suspension system onboard with internal spacing guide ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00KV3XPKI | | Antenna Location | Singing | | Audible Noise | 20 db | | Best Sellers Rank | #87,202 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #339 in Professional Video Microphones #1,031 in Microphone Windscreens | | Brand | Rode | | Built-In Media | microphone | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Amplifier, Karaoke Machine, Radio, Speaker | | Connectivity Technology | XLR | | Connector Type | XLR | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 367 Reviews | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 10 years | | Enclosure Material | Plastic | | Frequency Range | 40Hz - 20kHz | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00698813001187, 00698813003631 | | Hardware Platform | Smartphone, Tablet | | Impedance | 200 ohm | | Item Dimensions | 19.29 x 5 x 11.2 inches | | Item Highlight | Microphones | | Item Type Name | Microphone Wind Shield and Shock Mount System | | Item Weight | 1.2 pounds | | Manufacturer | RØDE Microphones | | Mfr Part Number | 698813003631 | | Microphone Form Factor | Shotgun | | Model Name | RØDE Blimp Wind Shield and Shock Mount System | | Model Number | BLIMPR | | Number of Batteries | Product Specific batteries required. | | Number of Channels | 1 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Polar Pattern | Unidirectional | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Recommended Uses For Product | Singing | | Signal-to-Noise Ratio | 60 db | | Special Feature | Stand | | UPC | 989898818549 698813003631 698813001187 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Rode - **Color:** Black - **Compatible Devices:** Amplifier, Karaoke Machine, Radio, Speaker - **Connectivity Technology:** XLR - **Connector Type:** XLR - **Included Components:** microphone - **Model Name:** RØDE Blimp Wind Shield and Shock Mount System - **Polar Pattern:** Unidirectional - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Singing - **Special Feature:** Stand ## Images ![Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71QeCl5VqhL.jpg) ![Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81xSSJxWOZL.jpg) ![Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/313wD5I50kL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - RØDE Blimp Windshield and Shock Mount System - RØDE NTG4+ Versatile Dual-powered Supercardioid Condenser Shotgun Microphone with Switchable High-frequency Boost, High-pass Filter and Pad for Location Recording, Foley and Voice Overs - Zoom F3 MultiTrack Field Recorder --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.il/products/3250865-rode-blimp-windshield-and-rycote-shock-mount-suspension-system-shotgun](https://www.desertcart.co.il/products/3250865-rode-blimp-windshield-and-rycote-shock-mount-suspension-system-shotgun) --- *Product available on Desertcart Israel* *Store origin: IL* *Last updated: 2026-11-03*
