Aftermarket CV boots may include lower quality clamps than the OEM clamps. This tool can help you re-use the original clamps if you like. I have only used these on one CV boot replacement but I do not regret buying these. There are probably better tools for pro mechanics but these are good enough for the DIY user at a reasonable cost.

Remove hose clamps so much easier, worth every penny. The quality and durability isn’t the greatest but worth the money for DYI. I’ve used it 3 times already saving me so much time. If it breaks I’ll buy a new one. The design is genius

These are handy too have around the shop for occasional use. It saves me a lot of time, frustration and random, colorful words usually associated with trying to remove or reinstall hose clamps.The quality is OK for use every once in a while. It would not be a good choice for a professional mechanic as the sturdiness is questionable. But it was inexpensive and served it's purpose for the job I had to do.

I would have returned this if I could have found the box it came in. The locking mechanism only worked when it was not used on a hose clamp. And you had to squeeze harder then the ones without the cable to get it open the clamps as well. It did get into tight areas but most of the time I could also basicly use a pair of long reach pliers to do the same job except for one time. If the locking mechanism worked like it should have then it would have a better rating but having to constantly hold the pliers and try to move the clamp often made a one person job a two person job, not ideal.

Definitely useful for hard to reach clamps. I struggled for days before buying this and was able to remove clamps within minutes. The quality and durability is great, especially for the cost. I would recommend using this to any mechanic!

I'm giving these radiator hose clamp pliers 5 stars under the condition that they are seldomly used. I used them for one job and they did well overall. They allowed me to squeeze the hose clamps and move them out of the way just fine. I don't think this tool would last for daily usage but its truly a godsent for your occasional at-home use.

Well made and nice design idea but they lack strength for most spring hose clamps. They do not have enough leverage.
