Worth the money
Nice, thick slab of twisted iron. Easy to bend but Doesn't split. It's a circular neck ring so does tend to twist/rotate somewhat depending on activity. Comfortable. Worth the buy.

Not as Pictured
There are several listings for iron torcs that range between $25-40, and they are all just twisted pieces of iron but I opted for this $35 version because it was the only one depicted with a single-direction twist or spiral. Unfortunately I received the same alternating twist design I could have gotten cheaper from a different listing.If that wasn't enough I had the same issues as other buyers where I could only force it to open maybe 1 cm using a lot of effort, and I can tell if I forced It further it would absolutely snap the metal. I've never had an iron torc so I don't know if that's somehow typical, but I do notice some of the other listings for iron torcs have much wider openings to begin with, so I'm not sure if the narrow opening is a design flaw or if the iron could have been heated to the wrong temperature during manufacture which caused mine specifically to be too inflexible.I would like to mention the black powder everyone is complaining about is due to an oxidation coating. They're trying to emulate how the iron can oxidize which can help prevent rust, because the exposed, shiny iron like in the picture will rust without some type of coating (If you completely removed it on yours I would suggest coating it with a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil, especially when storing it). So the item has been falsely advertised, and they could definitely clean off more of the excess powder before sending to customers.

Can't open and extremely dirty
Two major problems with this torc...It came out of the bag filthy... a fine metal powder all over it. We tried wiping it off and it just never got clean.... a rusty like dust everywhere... I should have listened to the other reviews stating this but assumed if it came that way that we would just clean it and make it work.Might have actually kept trying to clean it to get it usable BUT...I couldn't open it to put around my neck! I own quite a few torcs and I've never had this issue... my husband and a few others tried to open it as well... wouldn't even open an inch. Not going to put in the effort to clean it more if I can't even wear it! It looks like it would be beautiful if not for those two things but it is unwearable... sorry.

Solid worth every penny
Takes a min to get use to sleeping with it on. But worth every penny.
