Another fantastic addition to a wonderful series!
I’ve loved the Lady Emily mysteries ever since I first found And Only to Deceive among the paperbacks while shopping with my mom and this is another fantastic read! Love the descriptions of Pompeii which truly make you feel as if you’re walking the ruins with Emily, Colin and Ivy. Several surprises are in store as we see some familiar faces in the series and meet new friends.

Another fabulous Lady Emily adventure!
I’m a major Tasha Alexander fan. This book brings Lady Emily, Colin, Ivy, and company to Pompeii. The adventure begins immediately, the characters are exciting, and leave the reader guessing until the end. I admit that I went back and forth between my suspects until the last pages, but I’d never ruin it for anyone else. I love Tasha Alexander’s descriptions of the ruins, of each painting and the architecture. It’s one of her many virtues as an author: intense research!!I’ve also gained new vocabulary words, as always.Just read it. Especially during our current pandemic situation. Read a lot, share your favorites with others. I will always recommend Lady Emily to everyone. Enjoy!

Split storyline
I’ve enjoyed the series up until the last one. I don’t like the split storyline. It’s distracting and interrupts the continuity of the story. It looks like the next book in the series does the same, so I’ll stop with this one.

I've enjoyed every book in this series
Thank you Tasha for another Lady Emily mystery. I have read every one of these books in order, and look forward to the next! I loved the way the two stories intertwined. I was also inspired to read up more on the historic background about Pompeii. So interesting!

Another Lady Emily Treasure from Tasha Alexander
I alas believe series should be read in chronological order and the Lady Emily series is no exception. I’m a huge fan of historical fiction, especially mysteries. This book gets very detailed about the times, first century AD and the early 20th century, places and people. It made it hard to stay awake and read. Regardless, devote a little more time and enjoy Pompeii through Alexander’s stories.

One of the best Lady Emily stories
I started out convinced this was not going to be !favorite Lady Emily, but before I was halfway through I couldn't put it down. Alexander's eloquent writing style makes her books almost impossible to put down, and you get so engrossed in their character's issues. If you love Lady Emi!y, you will love this book!

More, please!
I have always enjoyed the Lady Emily books and felt the same about this one. Quite often they begin slowly but build to an exciting conclusion, however the double storyline featuring the same setting captured me immediately. As usual, Alexander's research was impeccable. Her support team deserves congratulations as well.

Ancient and modern mysteries in Pompeii and A Significant Development for Emily and Colin
In the 14th in this series, Emily and Colin and their friends are exploring Pompeii when they stumble upon a body – and not an ancient one. Soon Emily is investigating a murder, but she also has family drama to deal with. This is a good mystery with an interesting set up and what felt like a definite Amelia Peabody reference. If you have read the previous books in the series this has what I would term A Significant Development for the family which looks set to provide some interest in the books to come, if you haven't read the previous books, maybe start with them as they're cheaper and you'll miss out on running plot strands if you don't!
