Twilight's Last Gleaming: How America's Last Days Can Be Your Best Days

I just love Dr. Jeffress. My husband and I watch his morning program on weekdays and Sundays. His teaching is interesting, he speaks with clarity and he supports everything with scripture. I am so glad that he is speaking out on many political issues that most churches won't touch. Seriously, we Need the church to get involved...there is NO separation of church and state-never was...never will be-because there is NO separation in our faith and anything! We are spiritual beings-we can NOT separate ourselves from what happens in life-politically, religiously, or socially, or in any other way. For too long,we have been pampered-but Jesus will return and what will we say when He asks, "What did you do to stop abortion? What did you do to prevent gay 'marriage,' What did you do to feed the poor, ....?"We have a responsibility to speak and Hear the truth and not be silenced by a government or any other system that says we have no rights to talk about Jesus in the schools, or mention God, creation, or take our Bibles anywhere we want! Did we not learn from Peter that we are to obey God rather than man-when the need arose? That time has long since been here!

Although a few years old now, this book is an excellent read for Christians concerned about how to navigate a world that seems to be getting crazier by the day. It is a readable and helpful book. I do have a concern that, while Pastor Jeffress correctly points out the evil of abortion, he neglects to deal with the fact that abortion does not occur in a vacuum but in the context of extreme stress over an unplanned pregnancy. He neglects to mention the fact that often a pregnant woman is not supported by the father of the child or by her own parents. A pastoral response to the abortion problem requires not just concern for the baby but also concern for the mother and that concern needs to be authentic, deep, and Christ like, not superficial, smug, glib, or entirely absent.

Makes you stop and think where I am in my walk with Jesus. Thank you Dr. Jeffries for your walk with Jesus.

Dr. Jeffress writes clearly and scripturally. I think this book should be a "must read" for all of us.This nation is in a mess, as is all of the world. Dr. Jeffress tells us how to repair the damage.
