Cane Creek Thudbuster G4 LT Elastomer, Soft, BAE0299-61

"medium" comes with the cane creek TB. Not comfortable and fails to make any rides enjoyable. This "soft" one works fine. Downsides are expensive and hard / frustrating to install. recommended

I have two Thudbusters on two bikes (duh). Ridden them since Cane Creek had Thudbusters. On both of them I eventually installed an elastomer one step softer than Cane Creek recommends. I weigh 185 lbs and ride mostly on the street and a little gravel. Soft works for me. Not too soft, not too hard, just right.

The Cane Creek Thudbuster LT comes with the "medium" elastomer insert which is rated for riders weighing 150 to 200 pounds. I'm at the low end of that range so, although I was happy with the Thudbuster's performance compared to the in-line suspension post I'd been using, I decided to buy and install the "soft" elastomer which is rated for riders between 120 and 170 pounds. Installation of the new elastomer was very simple with supplied instructions and relatively easy even though I don't have the hand/finger strength I once had. But, once installed, it made ALL the difference in the quality of the ride. Having since logged a hundred or so miles on this seatpost and elastomer combination, I'm very happy with both.

Thudbuster came with the medium. They should just sell without the elastomer and buy it separate. The soft makes a big difference on the bumps but cost $20 extra and have no use for the medium it came with. Ride on bumpy city streets. weigh 140 - 160 depending on what's in my backpack.

Just like everyone described. Works great and easy installation. Although it is tough getting the elastomer in and out to swap it for a different one.
