Delicious tea with lovely flavor
I had found some of this tea locally and bought it on a whim. It was delicious, so I found it on Amazon and got a large bag! It is loose-leaf and needs a tea ball or other strainer to brew properly.I prefer a stronger flavor for my tea, as I like it strong plus make iced tea from it (I’m not a delicate floral tea-type person), and this one delivers! It is lovely on its own, but I usually use one scoop of it and one decaf black teabag together (for iced tea) so as to not drink a ton of caffeine. It smells wonderful, both in the container and brewed! I know flavor is so subjective to people, but if you like bourbon, bourbon-barrel ale, etc., this would make a nice complement. Two thumbs up! :)

Pleasant and great for iced tea.

Addicting!
The aroma when you open the bag is so amazing, it's like a mixture of bourbon, a summer garden, and the amazing aroma of a great black tea. It's worth every penny!

Best flavor, great product
Was sad when I heard my favorite bourbon tea was going out at my local boba tea place. So I searched and hunted and thankfully found what I believe to be one of the best teas ever

(update: it is growing on me...slowly) Some say it tastes like an old sock
Update: Added one star...it is slowly growing on me. Take a while.I am not fond of this tea. Some say it tastes like an old sock, but I wouldn't go that far. It has what I consider to be a "tea" flavor in there but it is overpowered by bitterness and smokey flavors and some other mildly sweet flavor added in there. The description says it has a hint of smokey oak or something, but it is more than just a "hint" to me. It is not srong like Lapsang Souchong, but still too smokey for me. I also don't drink whiskey. So it is not for me, and maybe it is not for you, but it also has a lot of positive reviews so maybe it is for you. That is the fun of life. We all like different things. If you are unsure, recommend you try a smaller container. I don't know what to do with a pound of this stuff. My fellow tea drinkers in the office didn't get past the smell of the tea in the bag...which I find oddly fascinating...but not for me.Good luck, everyone!

A huge miss from a standout tea company
Elmwood Inn makes some very good tea. Their Southern Pecan tastes fantastic, and their Apricot black tea makes some of the best iced tea my wife has ever had. [I prefer my tea hot.]I ordered this tea because I'm a big fan of bourbon, and I thought I would get a tea with the flavors of bourbon--vanilla, caramel, maybe a little oak. Instead, I received tea that tastes indescribably bad. One of the other reviewers equated it to an old sock. Unfortunately, he's being polite. The tea itself is high-quality. I can't knock that. The flavor, though, is absolutely terrible. I bought a pound and threw the vast majority of it out.In short, I wouldn't hesitate to buy tea from Elmwood Inn again, but never this one. This tea will haunt my dreams forever.

Delicious
I have bought this tea many times, both for myself and as a gift for others. My advice is to add just a little bit of honey to really bring out all of the flavors. I will continue to buy this tea as long as it is sold. 1 cup usually gets me through my whole afternoon.
