Car is great for a beginner
I loved the car, drove it almost every day for 3 weeks till it finally broke. How it broke, I typically drove it full throttle through the turns and everything and the motor burned up fast and the on off switch didn’t work well when a little bit of dust got into it. Otherwise the car it’s self is a monster, lol. I just finished upgrading the electronics and it’s ridiculously fast. I won a couple of races and added a car body. would recommend for anyone getting into RC cars. Next thing needing upgrading is the tires. I burned them bald.

Its still a great deal even though you need to completely rebuild it.
Long story short, parts that are on this car than came with it out of the box are as follows. The front and rear gear box housings and diff's inside, actually very good units, front suspension and steering "rods" not the plastic pop ends, Front and rear axels. Replacement stronger rears are on the way. All the screws from the original car. Most of the original body. So not much at all. Why pay 140 for that short list of parts you'll actually use? You can build a Losi, Team Associated direct competitor for hundreds less. Real carbon and all... This car is a direct copy of the TAB7. Close enough... and the aftermarket adds for this car make it amazing. Mine didn't even roll out of the box. Thought pinion mesh was way over tight. nope. You have to grind these tabs out of the gearboxes... Its nuts... but its only 140 bucks. One requirement, you need to know how to build a real car from this, Utube has someone that's done everything I did plus plus plus.... Hope this helps and gives you a true expectation on what's actually in the box. You can make a monster.... Last, get the 5mm carbon upgrade chassis. 3mm not strong enough. I guess 5 stars for the end result?

Broken on arrivale
this thing showed up broken, the driveshaft was making a horrible noise and it would not move, i returned and was refunded my money tho. i dont think it would be very durable at the track, without breaking, but if u baby it its prolyl fine to learn, and its prolly fast cuz i has the 1 12th scale one and it rips

Damaged right out of the box.
I received the car and the box had a hole punched through the middle of it, all 4 shocks leaked all the oil out of them inside the box and the esc was not secure flopping around, quality seems to be the issue here, I do not recommend.

Unbelievable
I got this 4wd 1/10 scale buggy on sale for $120 something. I wasn't honestly expecting much but when I got it, I couldn't believe the weight of the box. I opened it up and honestly couldn't believe all of the metal/aluminum parts on this car, chassis, lower and upper arms front and back, shock mounts front and back, axles, etc. Wasn't expecting any of that with the exception of the chassis. Normally if I bought a really nice buggy 3 times the amount I would be lucky to get metal shocks, well alone anything else. It handles great, has a decent amount of speed for someone's first rc or a young child. The only thing I'mprobably going to upgrade on the car is a brushless setup. Highly recommend this car, it already has a ton of upgraded parts that I would normally spend hundreds of dollars replacing. I thought I would try a cheap rc car for once and I definitely picked the right one.

It’s good enough
It’s pretty decent it’s not super fast.

A little slow compared to other such buggy/truggy’s
Simple bashing about in the dirt lot.

Needs lots of upgrades, not a good value like the smaller cars.
Unlike the 124XXX series, which have been a home-run, WL Toys cut some corners in the wrong places with the 104001.For starters, it should have had an upper deck, the chassis plate is too thin to go without one. While the flex is a bit exaggerated by some reviewers, it's definitely there. It's an issue that was easily prevented and should have been without the end user needing to buy or make parts.Secondly, while brushed systems with 2-in-one ESCs on budget kits are common and not inherently bad, this one needed to be done differently. It is a hungry 550 brush motor with too-small wires, especially since batteries in the size this kit was designed to accommodate typically come with 14 or even 16 ga wires. Everything gets REALLY hot REALLY quick. This should have been done with all 12 ga wiring and at least a 3,300 mAh 80C battery. Really, any 4WD 1/10 car should easily accommodate standard or shorty 4,000-6,200 mAh LiPos.Moving on, the stock tires are pretty much garbage. They're awful on every surface, not aggressive enough for loose dirt or gravel, too "spikey" for clay or paved surfaces, don't bite on carpet.I don't hate the car, there's actually quite a bit to like about it. But the issues with the power system mean it's really not something that should be considered an RTR, and so the value is significantly less than what it would be when you have to factor replacing ESC and motor, which also forces the servo and radio since it's a 2-in-1 system with 5 wire servo, and than you have to modify it to accept a lipo of more appropriate size. Suddenly your ~$150 RTR has become a $300+ minimum investment, a price point at which you have better options. I'd be pretty unhappy if A, I didn't already have batteries and radio systems that allow me to just pop in a receiver and install a cheap brushless system and servo, and B, if I had paid the prices you see here rather than having scored it on sale for $71 shipped from Aliexpress. In a nutshell, while the 144 and 124 series buggies are awesome and represent an amazing value, WL really dropped the ball with this one. I recommend waiting to see if a V2 that addresses the high-demand, hot running power system, lack of larger battery compatibility and the flexy chassis.
