I’m writing this review about the safe but also about the company selling the safe. The safe is very good. It’s not Liberty Safe quality but for the money it’s hard to beat. Since this was my first gun safe purchase I wanted the most bang for my buck. I believe that these safes provide that. Also know that the number of guns that is advertised for all gun safes isn’t accurate. Take the number of guns a safe says it can hold and divide by 2 and that will be the most guns you can get into it. TRUST me on that! If you think you need a bigger safe then get a bigger one because you’ll need it!Unfortunately my safe arrived damaged (no fault of Dean Safe). It looks like the freight carrier dropped it on it’s side and the weld on the corner broke. I was extremely disappointed and contacted Dean Safe through Amazon. They have been excellent to work with and their customer service is awesome! They have taken care of everything in getting me a new safe and did it quickly. They are very responsive to my messages and have made sure that I am taken care of. You are very safe to work with them (see what I did there)!

This safe was by far the best investment yet! The quality and durability is well noted. I will say, it’s at least ranked with the high end safes and at an excellent price, even though it’s made in China. I was a bit discouraged and skeptical when I saw made in China, but you will not be disappointed once it’s out of the box.Be prepared to do some muscle work. This safe is very heavy (450LB), and top heavy at that. You will need to bolt it down once located within the house because the door alone will shift the weight forward. It will come shipped on a pallet and the safe will have four temporary cylinder base legs that will need to be removed, preferably prior to moving it into your home. Suggest renting an appliance dolly to allow the safe to rest on its side and remove the legs. It will also come in handy when moving it into your home.

They give instructions for the combination. They do not give instructions for anything else. The safe comes with 4 feet installed for shipping purposes. One of the feet was secured directly through the metal floor of the safe only. The other 3 were secured normally through the wooden floor and through the hole originally drilled through the metal bottom of the safe, both. Then, the factory worker built the flooring of the safe and covered this one bolt completely with the carpet and wooden floor of the safe. One will need to break the safe completely apart, removing the carpet and flooring both, to gain access to the 4th bolt. Otherwise, one will have to go underneath with specialized tools to remove the bolt. It seems like someone at the factory did this out of spite (not to me personally, ofc) because this bolt sticks out of the floor of the safe approximately 2-3" from where it is supposed to be and the head of the bolt is 100% inaccessible. Customer service is minimal... seems like two guys in their garage. In order to return, I'm being asked to put this ~500lb safe up onto a pallet and pack it properly for shipping. yeah.. no. Do not recommend this purchase as it has come with more headaches than any gun safe purchase ever should. Still waiting on my return instructions and am out the money in the mean time.
