A Little Disappointed!
I had Red Barron II years ago when I still had my older Sony Vio with Windows 98. It was a blast to play and had a lot of whistle and bells to fool around with. Now I have an HP system with Windows XP and most of these great older game WILL NOT WORK. Unfortunately Red Barron II is one of them along with Sid Meyer’s Gettysburg, Microsoft Train simulator, 2K Games Shattered Union, Interactive magic Civil War, Ubisoft Silent Hunter II and Fighting Steel. Sad, most of the newer games that are compatible with Windows 7 and 8 are all these first person shooter games. Bottom line, this game will load up, but has issues running. It’s not the products fault, but rather the operating systems.

Red Baron 3D
Old game with a new format that has made it harder to use than the original game. Fun to play but I'm dissappointed in the product now.

Great for it's day but not up to today's standards
It was the very best in it's day, but even with the full canvass jacket mod, it's well behind the times for a good WWI flight simulator. Wings Over Flanders Fields Ultimate Edition has 78 aircraft, plus zepps, incredible AI and a huge dynamic campaign. Rise of Flight has cool damage modeling effects and multiplayer. Unless you just have nostalgia, either of those choices will likely be a better place to spend your money.WOFF screenshots

Missing the playability of the original
The game lacks the excitement of the original Red Baron as well as most of the feel. The game engine is decent and the added American Flyer option is ok, but over all the game is still very lacking of its predecessor.
