Texas ornament with a mixture of rich brown glaze colors on a texture of fall leaves. An ornament for Texans, or if you have been through Texas, or you don't live here but think it's awesome in Texas, or your mom lives in Texas, or you want to collect ornaments from around the world places: like Texas, and so forth! :) Texas is a unique and wonderful place! Made to order, this little beauty measures about 3 1/2 inches east to west and the 3 1/2 inches north to south. The Texas highways those directions are scaled similar in mileage if you have ever driven across Texas! The ornament width is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I start with a blob of white clay, roll a slab, cut out this shapely Texas, and add the design. I fire twice with a top coat of brown glass glaze. The tie at the top is hemp twine. Made to order items can have color, shape and texture differences that I will do my best to keep at a minimum. My mom used a Texas cookie cutter when I was a child to celebrate cookie eating. I had saved it all these years and began making Texas ornaments (that particular cookie cutter had to retire recently). Though I am not the best cookie maker, I have found that Texas makes a very attractive ornament. Ceramic items are delicate. I prefer to use mostly recycled packing items, but with the delicacy of ceramics, I will be using some new materials to ensure it gets to you in the same condition it left here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please remember that the items I am selling contain vintage and/or recycled materials. They can and do have signs of age and wear. I have cleaned them gently. Also, I am selling items that I have lovingly handmade.
