Maniac of New York: The Death Train (MANIAC OF NEW YORK TP)

A thrilling horror and acid satire. The writing is sharp and the art is vivid and visceral. Highly recommended and not just for horror fans.

Maniac of New York was excellent! Loved every page of it. I can not wait for part 2 to see what the team come up with next! The Maniac feels like an old slasher friend I am revisiting from films of the 80s. If you are in to slashers I highly recommend this boom

This collection of the first five chapters Maniac is a welcome addition to the horror comic genre. The art work is gritty and reminds me of the streets of New York as I continued to follow the story. The author spins a tale as real as any slasher movie you might have seen. You can almost feel the emotions of the characters as they try to just make it to another day. The killer, while being voiceless, has enough character to really make you want to learn his history and backstory. Why doesn't he die, how'd he get to New York, etc. If you feel like you've run out of good horror comics to read, get this. Just try to be more patient than I am waiting for the next installment. I look forward to seeing where the story will go next year.

I don't like slasher stories, mostly I think they are unbelievably silly and boring. But here writing and art are top notch! One of the best comics I read.

The art work is simple, yet effective. The symbolism within the story is taking a stab (hehe) at current issues & makes the reader think how we are not too far off from living this in real time.Clever writing indeed!

Actually, has he done it before? Unclear, but he’s certainly done it here. This book’s pretty good. Not exactly subtle, but then, subtlety doesn’t seem to be the intention. The story successfully evokes the disingenuousness of the gun debate from the people in power, and the powerlessness of the people it actually affects. The artwork is effective and effectively messy in its depictions. I’m excited (if that’s the right word) to see what’s next for the maniac.

Think Jason takes Manhattan except awesome!What a page turner, I can't wait for volume 2!
