My old cylinder was a shorter form factor and was leaking. As my day progressed, My chair would lower to a undesirable height. I Opted for a taller cylinder for my chair/desk, work-from-home environment and it met two objectives: 1) A taller chair (without raising the cylinder) and 2) the ability to raise my chair much higher if desired. This is all personal preference of course.As far as the product it works perfectly! No leaks, No problems. The chrome finish looks blends perfectly with my chair!Installation: There are YouTube videos on how to change your cylinder! A pipe wrench, rubber mallet and some muscle are all you need to not damage your chair during removal/installation.

I was a little worried about purchasing this replacement cylinder given the limited reviews, but given the price I took the chance. Could not be happier so far. My $11 investment saved me big time over purchasing a new desk chair. For my particular chair, the cylinder was about 1" longer than my original cylinder fully compressed and I dont think it sits as deep in my wheel base either. The result is that the overall stroke makes the chair a little bit tall for me. I'm 5'11" and with the chair fully raised my feet do not touch the ground. So be aware that replacing the cylinder will potentially impact chair height.Quality of product appears to be good. The chrome finish is a perfect match to the other chrome parts on the chair and I have had no issues. Could not be happier with my purchase.Easy install and saved me from having to purchase another expensive desk chair.

Quick shipping.Id researched this quite a bit, and when it came, the install was easy and everything fit.Hydraulics hold so far (this is what failed on old rolling stool, despite trying all the fixes seen online) and it operates smoothly.

This lasted about a month in my shop chair before loosing pressure and ceasing to function. Total waste of money.
