Not a good choice for your ever day differently abled person
As a 38 yo disabled woman with kids and a family. The grabbers are a cheap knock off for the Gopher Grabber II.These reds, their suction cups come off too easy and then they are junk b/c what good is it to a disabled person if its breaks so easy and there is no easy way to fix it, so trash bin it goes! You want a good grabber, take it from me The Gopher Grabber II are well worth every penny and if the suction cups come off they have a super easy way to put them back together , easy peasy and sturdy enough for a handi-capped person to change the light bulb in the shower with out standing out kneeling on something thing, i'm 4'10. I was able to safely remove the old bulb and replace with a new one bu using my grabber and doing it all myself. That my folks is a seriously lovely invention for people like "us" Don't buy the knock off like I did. They are not worth the money!!! Get the best bang for your buck and check out that Gopher Grabber II model!

Not as hefty as original.
Reason for 3 stars: I’ve been buying this model for a few years now. Noticed price was about 20% less this time. Just received the 2 pack. Not sure but for saving manufacturer penny or two per unit but in their wisdom have reduced size of main aluminum bar by appx 1/16” width and height. Now they will need to replace me as a client as I try to find a suitable replacement. Original one I was taxing the overall strength of grabber to its max. There is no way this reduced overall strength of item will be sufficient.

Really strong. Surprisingly so, actually. And EXTREMELY light weight.
Growing up, my grandmother used to have devices like this that could assist people grabbing things off the floor without having to strain their backs or otherwise reach really far. The bottom line is that I've seen terrible quality and GREAT quality products in this category, and despite being light in weight compared to some of the better-quality my grandma had, this thing has considerable gripping and lifting power. While I can't honestly say that this has the same gripping strength as a person's natural hands, it does grip surprisingly well compared to other products. For example, I successfully gripped, lifted, and held 4 heavy-duty, thick legal pads at once, all without slippage or structural strain on the device. And I got two for this low price. I recommend the product, even though the English language instructions on the tabs you are supposed to use to lock the thing to the extended position says "unlock" on BOTH sides, and that is obviously impossible.

Keep your Duct Tape handy
There is virtually nothing to like. Except maybe the low price. The handle control moves all by itself, I had to tape mine open. The "knee" joint is poor, it has fractured twice when I tried to fold the tongs up: again, Duct tape, but now it's fully extended and can't fold up. I mostly live in my BarcaLounger, which is powered by a piston and framed with strap steel: when the Lounger moves, its armrests widen and backrests open, its footrest steel support beams look like jaws. B-Lounger is very happy to macerate the tongs shaft because the aluminum in the product is very VERY thin. Lounger chewed deeply into the shaft 4" from the handle this morning. Bottom line: spend a little more money and get a better product. When I get tired of hobbyist taping, the next stop is the dumpster.

Not the same as picture
In the picture, it shows the suction cups to be screwed on. The 2 grabbers I received, the suction cups were put on with brads.. Also in the picture it showed the grabber opening wide but the one 2 I received only opened 3 1/2 inches... I would say this is false advertising even if it is by the pictures.. I thought I was getting the gopher, bad on me because I didn't look at the name.. I just ordered another one, this time making sure it had the gopher name on it.. in fact it said gopher II. In the ad or description it should say.. as advertised on T.V.
