A Solid Enclosure For A Great Price
The main body of the enclosure is aluminium which not only gives it a premium feel; but its solid enough to handle a trip in a bag or pocket. The inner part of the enclosure consists of a plastic tray that the hard drive sits in to and is secured by screws; which I think is fantastic as not only does it stop the HDD from bouncing around inside the enclosure (no fancy foam padding here), but also helps to keep the HDD nicely attached to the SATA connection. The supplied USB-C cable has a reasonably solid transfer speed when connected to a USB 3 (or 3.1) port. I have been using this HDD enclosure for a few months now, connecting it to multiple devices (laptop, smart phone, TV and an iPad) and I have not had a single problem with it yet. My only criticism is the lack of any "feet" to help stop it from sliding about and scratching up that nice aluminium casing. I did get around this problem by making my own "feet" though, using those little rubber draw stops you normally get when buying draws from Ikea. I just picked up a handful from the spares section at my local Ikea. Overall I am very happy with this enclosure.

Nice, Compact Aluminium Enclosure
Arrived in nice packaging - not too much of it, good for the environment. Complete with screws, including spares, and a screwdriver. Cable, and anti-static pad for putting on a disc. The instructions are bi-lingual in both English and Chinese. It's so simple, instructions are not necessary. Pic 4 shown drive frame simply slides out. Connect SSD, in my case a crucial 1TB, into the SATA slot. Use 2 screws, at the front, to attach disc to plastic frame. Slide frame back into aluminium enclosure, then use two screws at the rear of the enclosure to lock frame into position. It takes less than two minutes, but once done, it feels like a solid external drive that will last.I have a couple of Sabrent enclosures that require no screws at all, but they are plastic and do not feel like they will last. For the extra £3 or so, this is a quality item, that I use as a Time Machine Backup for my MacBook Pro, and the two go well together. Transfer rates are excellent. There is no power, just plug and play, and it takes power from the usb connection. It's a sleek, design too. It measure only 115mm x 75mm x 11mm. Fits very easily into small pocket in my computer bag.I am very happy with this enclosure and will be ordering at least 2 more in the near future.

Well built and fast
I deliberately went for this screw-shut design rather than tool-free for the simple reason that tool-free means easy-to-open-even-if-you-don't-want-to. There's no chance of that happening here. Tool-free is for temporary caddies, not permanent. The outer shell is aluminium and feels solid and well made. The inner section slides out, the drive then pops in and gets secured by two screws at the connector end. If it's got an exposed circuit board then there's a sticky sheet included that goes over that to stop it shorting out against the case. Stick this on, slide it home, put two more screws in which fasten the case, inner and drive all together, and you're done. It even comes with the screwdriver to do the job, and two spare screws. The cable it comes with is a fully-wired USB 3.0 A-to-C, as shown in the photo with the Treedix tester.Presumably because it's a USB Attached SCSI (UAS) enclosure, Windows doesn't see it as a removeable disk (so no "eject" option if you right-click the drive in Explorer). It does, however, see it as a removeable caddy, so a USB icon will appear down by the clock and you can right-click to eject the caddy - and the drive letter) from there.Mac OS doesn't care, the Eject symbol appears alongside the volume in Finder, just as it would for a USB stick.I tested it copying 30GB of files to a Crucial 500GB SSD and it absolutely flew along. I also tested it connected to a laptop with a Cable Matters USB4 cable (which is still USB-C at both ends) and it was perfectly fine with that, too.My only criticism is that it could've come with a set of rubber feet, but I'm not going to drop a star for that as it's such a good caddy. If you've got a spare SSD because you've scrapped an old laptop, get one of these and turn it into a super-fast portable drive.

Does what it should
Unit is a plastic tray in a reasonably robust aluminum shell. Very easy to set up and does what it should do in providing a solid enclosure for a SATA SSD drive to be used as external storage. Pleased with the unit and can recommend.

As described
Perfect product. The sleek metal case is small & dissipates heat. It takes minutes to interface with the pre-installed internal SATA/USB Circuit. The end product is a fully functioning SSD.

2.5 SSK HDD/SSD Enclosure
Great beautiful product with a nice finish, including 6 mounting bolts and a magnetic screw driver, a sticker for the back of HDD (me personally I just added the sticker in the between the HDD and the aluminum Enclosure and not stacked on because even I have few SSK Enclosures I still change the HDD, my advice is to stick that sticker on the back of HDD if you’ll not change it - for safety reasons). Makes a difference for the external memory of the PS and every day projects work. Even I’m Tech I’ll not talk about technical specifications because I already know they are great for this device and I really recommend this product for the affordability, nice finish and specifications.

Works ok but on the cheap side
The outer enclosure is aluminium and it's ok,the tray is made from a flimsy plastic and it's not sturdy.Better to mount your 2.5" ssd and leave it there until it doesn't work anymore.Assembly is a bit finicky but nothing to worry about.Performance is good for such a cheap enclosure. No rubber feet so its slippy on a smooth surface.Rubber bands to the rescue! :)I would still recommend it for a cheap enclosure if you don't have to switch ssd drives .
