Rubank Elementary Method - Violin (Rubank Educational Library) Paperback – October 1, 1990

this is a great beginner lesson plan. quality cover binding, paper, and very legible print.i do prefer the belwin string builder for a more "hand-held", less progressive approach. i.e. plainly shows all fingerings in a graphic when a new note is introduced.still though, the rubank is top notch and is to be recommended. gets the 4th finger utilized in the first few pages. detailed bowing for the level right up front. i would say belwin 1&2 = rubank elementary.

Ordered it because it this is used in the schools. But it is not a good book if you are trying to learn on your own. (Which is what I am doing) It really needs to be used with an instructor because they is not much text.

My teacher has been teaching me from this book. I find it easy to follow with a little instruction.

Just right skill builders for a beginner. Perfect songs to statrt off with.
