Great replacement for my old toothbrush with just one shortfall.
I brought this to replace my 10 year old one due to the battery finally giving up, so this unit had big boots to fill.First impressions are good, it's more comfortable in the hand with not too much vibration into the handleHead is good and is the same style as the ones i've used for years so getting a replacement won't be too bad. Plus i already had a couple of spares for my old unit which I can use. There is 1 button to toggle on and off and if it's running, drop it on the charger and it turns off.The unit has a led light that indicates charging, charged, and empty (think a 4 led option would have been better to denote 25%/50%, etc - but this works ok)It's quieter than my original unit and so far seems to be fine battery wise easily dealing with the 2 of us using it morning and night.NOTE - Before using it do a full chargeThe only gripes i have with it (and why I've given it 4 / 5 stars) are the old one had a wall mountable charger stand, this one doesn't and the cable isn't long enough to plug into my shaver light and stand on my bathroom cabinet, and also the socket in the bottom is smaller than the original one so I can't use the original stand which is already mounted to the cabinet. This is very short-sighted given the "let's reduce electrical waste" drive .. as I now have to remove my perfectly working charger and throw it away and work out how I am going to mount the new one in its place (small angle bracket and a piece of double-sided sticky tape is what i'm going for - toolstation 88945).

The box comes with a standard 2 pin shaver plug which was the only downside if you don't have a socket like this but luckily we
I bought this for my wife and she tells me that her teeth feels so much cleaner now than when she used her traditional toothbrush. The box comes with a standard 2 pin shaver plug which was the only downside if you don't have a socket like this but luckily we have a converter plug for it so it wasn't so bad. You can buy 1 on Amazon quite cheap anyway. The box states that the battery should last 7 days at 2x 2mins intervals each day so I tested it and let it run while I timed it. And true enough it lasted the amount of time stated. It comes with 2 brush heads so you can time when you need a new 1 with how long it takes for the first one to need replaced.

Who needs all the gadgets?
2 of us have been using this twice a day for over 2 years and still going. Prior to this I had a more "complex" brush with various settings. Guess what, used the gadgets for a few days, landed on one I liked and never changed. So, if you want a brush that does its job, i.e. cleans your teeth without an onboard computer that could land a rover on Mars, then get this. Its basic function is an on/off switch with 30 second vibration intervals so you can judge how long you are brushing for. Ask yourself, "what more do I need?". Do I really need a red light to tell me that I'm pressing too hard? Do I really need bluetooth so I can track and tune my brushing technique? Maybe if those features were a few quid more then maybe for the gimmick value sure. However, you'll pay £100's more for that. Oh, and a quicker recharge time. Mmmm, do you really need that given you'll probably use it twice a day? The decision is yours, at £22 (when I last looked) I'd just go for the basic brush. Only downside is that after time the intervals between recharges become noticeably more frequent. At this price just buy another!

Wait for one of the regular offers to save few quid on purchasing
Have used Oral B for many years, this was the 3rd replacement since 2006. Shame you cannot order without the charger (which you need an adaptor to use). Brushes can be expensive and the design requires you to remove brush head and rinse after every use or mould will build up inside. So much better than manual toothbrush and easier to reach all parts of your knashers.

It is ok.
I like my Oral-B toothbrush but I have been able to compare its battery life against my partner's Philips Sonicare (similar price). My Oral-B will do only 6 two minute cleaning sessions before the red "low battery" light begins flashing. It will then take between 14 and 16 hours to fully charge. I contacted Oral-B support and they did not seem to think this performance was unusual. My partner's Philips will do 14 two minute cleaning sessions before flashing the low battery warning and will recharge in less than 10 hours. As toothbrushes, they work equally well. I happen to prefer the cleaning motion and round heads of the Oral-B.
