Sound is safety
As a retired law enforcement officer I give them to women I know who ask for mace or other items so they can defend themselves. I opt to give this item because sound cannot be used against the person defending themselves unlike mace or knives.

Ok. Needs to be louder. And
Just not piercing loud enough. Be a good start.If started out as is and increasing over time, it would be good. Greater if able to go full throttle if you need.Also, if on key ring, easily activated. HOWEVER easily deactivated by just reconnecting! To stop attacker from just reconnecting you would have to choose to throw device, or keyring! Hmmmm. Toss you keys to care to escape or the sound trying to scare attacker or alert help?Should have a pull on both ends so you can pull anyway and extra bottom piece to stop simple shut-off

Waaay to easy to set off accidentally
This comes close to being great, EXCEPT if you hook the holder eye/operation pin to the outside of your purse or someplace accessible like that, it's far too easy to pull the pin out and set the thing off. The first time I went out with it, it apparently caught on something as I was getting at of the car and started making noise. Took me a minute to find where the base fell in the parking lot and was incredibly embarrassing. Probably needs a hook on the body of the device so you pull a smaller pin head free, not the main part. Not sure of best solution, but I'll never use this again unless a figure out a way to have ready access while protecting it from inadvertent start.

Waaaayyyy too Hard to pull out
Bought these for my kids to carry when they go out, but VERY DISAPPOINTED because the pin that you have to pull out for alarm, is Way Too Hard to pull out. Not sure if it will loosen up, but I can’t have them depend on it if they are weakened in a scary situation. They wouldn’t have the strength to pull out the pin. Also, a manufacturer brain fart - the sound and flashing lights are on opposite sides. If I was to hold the flashing light at a perpetrator, the sound would be blasting in my direction. If I point the sound to the perpetrator, then the light would be flashing at me And Blinding Me….. does NOT HELP THE SITUATION! So, I am disappointed in this and would NOT RECOMMEND this for it’s intended use.

Over priced, over rated.
Cheaper versions I have purchased work better, last as long and look prettier. Only purchased thinking it was a superior product but was very disappointed.
