Great Headphones and Highly Recomend
The sound quality of the DT 990 PRO is excellent, with a very balanced and neutral frequency response that is ideal for critical listening and mixing. The bass is tight and controlled, the mids are clear and articulate, and the highs are smooth and detailed. They have a very open and spacious soundstage, which helps to accurately reproduce the depth and separation of different instruments and vocals. One of the standout features of the DT 990 PRO is their high level of comfort. They are very lightweight and the ear cups have a generous amount of space, which makes them easy to wear for long periods of time without feeling fatigued. The headband has a velour padding that is soft and gentle on the scalp, and the ear cups have a breathable fabric that helps to keep your ears cool. The DT 990 PRO also have a number of convenient features, such as a detachable cable that allows you to easily replace it if it gets damaged, and a carrying case that helps to protect them when you are on the go. They also have a very wide frequency response range of 5Hz to 35kHz, which means they can accurately reproduce a wide range of audio frequencies.Overall, the beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO are a high-quality pair of studio monitor headphones that are well-suited for critical listening and mixing. They are a bit on the expensive side, but they offer excellent sound quality, comfort, and durability that make them well worth the price for professionals and audiophiles.

Worth every penny, or more!
Absolutely killer deal! For what I would consider a pair of premium headphones these "refurbs" seemed brand new. I bought them for my 15 year old who is getting very in to music and production so I wanted him to have something with high sound quality. And these delivered! I opted to get an impedance that didn't require an external amplifier just so he can use them on the go as well for his phone, laptop or tablet as he wants to. He was amazed and so was I. He hasn't abused them, but from my look at them they seem like they are high quality and rugged enough to be very durable for heavy use. I wouldn't go stomping on them or anything but they don't seem like super thin weak plastic on the parts that weren't metal/fabric.

Accidentally spilled bong water on them and they still work perfect. 5 stars

Great for mixing and mastering
So my humble home studio isn't acoustically treated so I needed an alternative to monitor speakers for when I am mixing and mastering. These headphones are excellent as they are open back (gives a sense of space) and have a mostly flat frequency response.I also use them for when I play video games.Just be aware that if you go with the 250 ohm version you really need a DAC amplifier to get these headphones to shine... higher ohms need more 'ooomph'... I got a fairly inexpensive DAC amp instead of the $150+ ones and I am very happy with the sound.Basically these are amazing headphones if you can power them!

Bent auxiliary cord
I was really hesitant on buying a refurbished product from amazon. I always buy new but the price difference was enough so I could buy it with 2 years of insurance for the same price as brand new headphones. After reading how amazon handles their refurbished products with testing, repairing and cleaning I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I got them today and there was a decent ding on the left can where you could see someone dropped them or banged it on something, which according to amazon you shouldn't see any wear from 12 inches away. The most egregious condition issue was the auxiliary cord. The prong is bent sideways. It's as if someone yanked on the cord while it was plugged in and it bent. The headphones sound amazing but as far as longevity is concerned, a bent aux cord wouldnt last long. I'm going to give it one more go and return these. I'm not expecting something mint, I bought a used and refurbished product. However, having the main piece of equipment that transfers sound to the headphones arrive bent, is a bit upsetting. I'll see how these new set of cans are.
