I don't normally write reviews on Amazon items. You get what you pay for. But I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this piece of furniture. It's your typical kit style piece. However, it's higher quality than most. You will spend some time assembling it. My estimate is an hour and hour with a partner, maybe an hour and a half or two hours by yourself. The instructions were good and easy to follow. I would suggest as others have to install the lift top brackets to the base of the unit before attaching the table top, at least for a single person. It really all went together well, with no drama. All holes lined up properly and with plenty of extra parts, a bag full, nice touch. It actually came with a screw driver that you will want to keep in your tool box, also a nice extra touch in my opinion. The table is very sturdy after assembly. It's actually kind of over engineered for the price point. That's rare for kit furniture. As far as materials, I would say adequate to above average, especially for the price point. Nothing feels cheap. The finished assembly feels sturdy and robust. I'm not sure if they use an actual wood veneer or a synthetic laminate, but it looks like real wood when assembled, not too shiny like a plastic veneer. It seems to take wood oil nicely. I did assemble the unit with polyurethane glue in all dowel pins. It seems incredibly sturdy. The lift top mechanism works extremely well, and smoothly. The only real cons I can describe are that the drawers and interior bottom panels are "relatively" thin, but this is a minor issue at best. Overall I'm incredibly happy with the purchase and final product. It assembled without drama, seems extremely sturdy, and looks good when completed. What more can you ask for especially considering the price point? Highly recommended. (This is just my opinion btw)

This coffee table is wonderful. Had no trouble at all putting it together. It took about 2 hours to fully assemble it. There were no missing pieces, in fact they sent a packet of extra pieces. The color I chose was true to color in the picture and matched almost perfectly to the other furniture I have in my living room. The top comes up so easily and the drawers pull out smoothly. It looks beautiful in my living room and the quality is very sturdy. Plenty of room in the drawers to store things as well as the open shelf, and the hidden space under the top. I would highly recommend this coffee table to my family & friends. It doesn't look like cheap material, it's sturdy & you can't beat the price.

I've had the table for about 3 months now. Table is fairly simple to put together and is super sturdy. It weighs about 50 lb and is about 18 in or so high and about 4 and 1/2 to 5 ft long. It has a nice laminated finish no blemishes or seams in the finish. The only thing about it is the drawers the sides of them are made of a paper material.

Putting it together was pretty easy, with good instructions. Pat attention and follow instructions closely! At first I put the top in the wrong mounting holes but it was easy to correct. Once I finished assembly, it is good and solid. Everything fits together tightly so there is no shakes or rattles. All in all, a nice addition to my living room.

This is a 5 all the way. I ordered Expresso and it is actually a cherry wood color. Quite lovely. It is all wood I think and quite substantial and heavy. Went together like a dream did it alone. Im a 75 yo female. Totally, without reservation, recommended

I Really like this coffee table. It looks great. I chose it because it had drawers and the top lifted for storage and I couldn't be happier. It came with no defects, scratches, missing pieces and the directions were easy to follow. As a 63 year old woman, I had no issues assembling this table by myself. I did use a box to support one side when attaching the cover but the fit is pretty close so that was easy to do. A small tool is provided but use a small ended Phillips screwdriver instead, it will work much better. I definitely recommend this table.

My husband and I love this coffee table! Assembly was a bit time consuming but it was fairly straight forward and easy to understand. It looks great in our living room, and we really appreciate all the storage that it brings. The top part still moves with ease, it's sturdy and solid. Overall very good for the money, great for apartments with limited storage if you're willing to put in the time to assemble.

Not easy to put together so unless you have a HANDYMAN or HANDYWOMAN maybe skip it. (I had a carpenter put it together for me) and I'm happy with the finished product. Lots of storage and love the fact that there's a slide out surface you can use to do work or dine or whatever while seated on your couch--if it's the right height. My futon sofa is only about a foot off the ground so the ergonomics are not good but I plan to get a better sofa soon. I'm not sure what the material is of the desk-- Pledge furniture polish doesn't work well on it......Great value for the price....
